The island was neither large nor small, but they did manage to find several types of exceptionally hard wood.

After making their selections, Uchiha Madara and Silier began cutting wood and building a boat.

After two days, Uchiha Madara and Silier finally finished an extremely crude boat.

Though it looked rather ugly, it was sturdy and durable, far better in quality than ordinary seafaring vessels. The wood here was precious, after all—things that could not be found anywhere else.

"Uchiha Madara, we did it. We really built a boat," Silier said.

"Yes, we did. Silier, you were right. Rather than keep hopelessly waiting for another ship, it was better for us to build a boat of our own," Uchiha Madara said.

"Silier, it was all thanks to you that we were able to leave this island," Uchiha Madara said.

"I'm not that capable. I only came up with the idea, then gave you a little help while you were building it. The fact that we have a boat at all is entirely your achievement," Silier said.

"Since you put it that way, then let's stop being so modest with each other. This is the achievement of both of us. Now, we can finally leave," Uchiha Madara said.

Uchiha Madara and Silier looked at one another and smiled. Then they pushed the boat into the sea and jumped aboard together. Uchiha Madara raised the sail, and the boat slowly moved forward into the sea breeze.

As the boat sailed across the ocean, Uchiha Madara took a compass from his clothes.

"Uchiha Madara, what is that thing in your hand? Why does it look so strange?" Silier asked.

"This is called a compass. When we sail at sea and cannot determine our direction, we use it to guide us," Uchiha Madara said.
