At last, the monkey had arrived.
Uchiha Shin had been cultivating that day when he suddenly heard someone outside say that a monkey had come to seek a master and learn the arts. He immediately jumped up and rushed outside the cave dwelling.
A filthy monkey knelt before the entrance to the cave dwelling. He looked thin and frail, with quite a few scars on his body, carrying an air of... weathered hardship.
It seemed that the monkey had gone through a great deal over the past ten years.
Uchiha Shin studied the monkey. Though he was a monkey, he felt far more different from ordinary monkeys, almost like a human.
Perhaps it was because the monkey had spent so much of the past ten years living among humans.
Yet when Uchiha Shin saw the monkey's eyes, he was briefly stunned and surprised.
The monkey's gaze was resolute and unwavering, as if even the strongest force in the world could not break that steadfast look in his eyes.
As expected of Great Sage Sun. He hasn't even begun cultivating yet, but he already feels extraordinary, Uchiha Shin thought.
"You're here to take a master and learn the arts?"
The monkey looked up at Uchiha Shin. "Yes."
"Don't worry. Just kneel here properly. Master will definitely accept you as his disciple."
"Are you sure?" the monkey asked.
"Of course. I know what kind of person Master is. He's rather indirect and never likes to say things plainly. He's honestly so hesitant and awkward, never straightforward at all."
Uchiha Shin could not help but complain about Subhuti.
"But since he's our master, we should understand him."
The monkey nodded.
"You must be hungry. I'll get you some fruit."
Uchiha Shin returned to the cave dwelling, only for Subhuti to come find him.
