Uchiha Shin froze for a moment. It really was Golden Cicada!
Golden Cicada would later reincarnate as Tang Xuanzang. Now that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had said so, Uchiha Shin had even greater confidence in Golden Cicada.
After all, he would one day journey west to obtain the scriptures. Perhaps that very journey would be a new path he carved out with fearless courage.
"Since the founding of our Buddhist sect, Golden Cicada has been the disciple with the greatest spiritual insight and the most spirituality. If our sect had not already chosen the future Buddha, Golden Cicada would certainly have inherited the Buddha's mantle."
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva spoke with a gentle smile. He was also very fond of Golden Cicada.
Uchiha Shin said, "Senior Brother Golden Cicada truly is extraordinary. I find him very easygoing, and his understanding of Buddhist teachings is profound. Talking with him always lifts one's spirits."
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva looked at Uchiha Shin. "Though Golden Cicada excels in every regard, his karmic ties to the mortal world have not yet been completely severed. This, too, is destined by Heaven. Not even the Buddha or Lord Lao can change it."
"If Golden Cicada wishes to achieve great success, he must endure layer upon layer of hardship before he has a chance."
Uchiha Shin looked at Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and said, "Bodhisattva, it seems you want Golden Cicada to forge a new path for Buddhist teachings?"
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled. "Of course. The current path of Buddhism is extremely difficult, and it grows narrower with every step. I truly hope our Buddhist sect can find a new road. Otherwise, Buddhism will only gradually decline in the end."
Uchiha Shin said, "Bodhisattva, you just said that what the Buddha seeks is Mahayana
