Uchiha Shin continued living with Jade Ding Zhenren here on Kunlun Mountain.
After studying spells with Guangchengzi and Taiyi Zhenren, Jade Ding Zhenren took him to learn from other expert cultivators as well. Over nearly two years, Uchiha Shin learned many things in the Heavenly Court and gained a great deal.
"Senior Brother Jade Ding, why did you have me study under all the other senior brothers?"
One day during a meal, Uchiha Shin paused and looked at Jade Ding Zhenren as he asked.
Jade Ding Zhenren said, "Because you and I are fated, and your resolve to cultivate is strong. A promising talent like you naturally deserves proper nurturing."
Then Jade Ding Zhenren smiled again. "If you truly feel grateful and wish to thank me, then bring me more good books in the future. I am a Sage who loves reading and researching books most of all."
Uchiha Shin looked at Jade Ding Zhenren. "Senior Brother, thank you for going to such trouble for me."
Jade Ding Zhenren froze.
Uchiha Shin smiled. "Senior Brother, I know your true intention was to let me learn more skills and give me a stronger ability to survive."
He understood that Jade Ding Zhenren had arranged for him to study under the experts of Kunlun Mountain partly because he appreciated him, but more importantly, because he wanted to help him gain a better chance of surviving the conflicts of the Three Realms.
Jade Ding Zhenren smiled. He had not expected Uchiha Shin to see through it.
"The struggles of the Three Realms are deeply tied to our Daoist sect. As a high-ranking disciple of the Daoist sect, I should not be doing such things, nor should I interfere. But someone like you... Senior Brother simply cannot bear to see you..." Jade Ding Zhenren
