After a pause, Maitreya Buddha said, "Venerable One, do you think Carefree Great Emperor is suited to be the ruler of the Heavenly Court?"
Tathagata looked at Maitreya Buddha. "Why do you ask?"
Maitreya Buddha said, "The Jade Emperor of the Heavenly Court has done such things. He is gradually losing the hearts of the living beings of the Three Realms. When the time comes, his position will surely be untenable, and someone new must take his place as the new Jade Emperor."
Tathagata said, "Someone will naturally replace him, but not now. As for whether it will be Carefree Great Emperor, that still requires further consideration."
"Though Carefree Great Emperor possesses the ability, his identity is not ideal. If he had no connection whatsoever to our Buddhist Sect, perhaps Lord Lao would already have made him the Jade Emperor."
Maitreya Buddha listened quietly and said, "If Carefree Great Emperor wishes to become the Jade Emperor, his strength is deeply intimidating. Unless his strength can be diminished."
Tathagata merely smiled faintly and said nothing more.
