At Spirit Mountain in the Western Heaven, Maitreya Buddha learned that Ox-King had led an army of several hundred thousand out of Western Cattle-Gift Continent to Eastern Victory Divine Continent to support Goku, and hurriedly went to find Tathagata.
"Venerable One, should we stop this?" Maitreya Buddha asked.
They did not want Ox-King to support Goku. At the same time, the Buddhist Sect wanted to win Ox-King over and make him one of their own.
Tathagata merely smiled faintly. "Even Taishang Laojun could not stop Ox-King. Do you think we can?
Even if you and I act, Laojun will intervene as well."
Maitreya Buddha nodded upon hearing this. "Flower Fruit Mountain alone has already been difficult enough for the Heavenly Court to handle. Now that Ox-King has joined them, it will be even harder for the Heavenly Court to deal with."
"It is no longer just Ox-King and Flower Fruit Mountain. The Carefree Great Emperor of Northern Jambu Continent has also made his move. The Heavenly Court cannot withstand them," Tathagata said calmly.
Maitreya Buddha said, "The demons of the lower realm are growing stronger and stronger, while the Heavenly Court is growing weaker and weaker."
Tathagata smiled slightly. "The demons of the mortal realm have indeed grown stronger, but the Heavenly Court's strength has not diminished."
"Then why can the Heavenly Court no longer contend with the demons of the lower realm?"
Tathagata rose to his feet and gazed into the distance. "First, because the Heavenly Court's leader is inadequate. Second, because the immortals of the Heavenly Court are not united. They have already split apart: one side is the immortals of the Heavenly Court; another is the immortals of Penglai Three Mountains, led by Dongwang Gong and the Three Star Gods of Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity; and yet
