Madara touched the wound on his left arm and grimaced in pain. Irritated, he said, "Charge my ass. We can't beat him. I rushed in just now to test his strength. My abilities are still a little short of a Jonin's, but I do have a secret technique that should be able to take down a Jonin. I just don't know how well it'll work against an Elite Jonin."
I've got a secret technique too. I could take down even a Peak Jonin in an instant—provided he stood still.
Shin silently grumbled to himself. His Three Tomoe tracked the other man's every move as he asked concisely, "Fight or flee?"
"Flee!"
Madara answered with the same single word. Faced with such an obvious gap in strength, he would never choose to fight. Only an idiot would—and he, Uchiha Madara, was no idiot.
"Go!"
Once they'd agreed, neither wasted a moment. Madara tossed two smoke bombs into the air, and a vast cloud of smoke rose up, blocking their view completely. Shin instantly formed Hand Seals. "Fire Style: Majestic Destroyer Flame!" He unleashed a massive wall of fire, like a blazing barrier shielding their escape.
The two became a pair of black shadows, fleeing into the distance at incredible speed.
"Void Slash!"
Hyuga Mingfeng swung his blade, cleaving the fiery barrier apart. "After them! We absolutely cannot let those two make it back alive."
He charged forward first, with three Jonin close behind him.
A ninja moving at full speed was terrifyingly fast. The Land of Fire was thick with trees, and the Yemu Clan's home lay outside the town. Once they were clear of the clan grounds, they could plunge straight into the Sea of Trees, an ideal place for ninjas to dart through the forest.
Madara and Shin did
