He had asked because he wanted to learn about Red Boy's current situation. Kagami Uchiha also knew that Red Boy would definitely make a move against Xuanzang and the others on the journey to Western Heaven.
As for why he would attack, Uchiha Shin was not entirely sure either.
From what Ox-King had said, Red Boy was still at Flame Mountain and had not gone to Fire Cloud Cave yet. That was fairly good.
However, Red Boy might not necessarily attack Xuanzang and the others, because ever since Uchiha Shin had come to the Three Realms, he had influenced many events there.
For example, Xuanzang and the others had originally been master and disciples, but now he wanted them to be friends rather than master and disciples.
"Big Ox, you should head back as well."
After sending Ox-King away, the three of them headed toward Lotus Cave on Flat-Top Mountain.
Along the way, Goku and Marshal Canopy told him about the ten-thousand-year-old fox demon.

Old Fox had come out at this time to challenge Goku and the others, intending to find an opportunity to capture them.
But Goku and Marshal Canopy had left, and she had been unable to find them. So she paced back and forth alone, waiting for the two of them to return.
