When Shin appeared before Uchiha Yutaka, dragging a battered Madara along with him, the former Third Elder was badly startled. He hurried over to ask what had happened.
Shin gave him a brief explanation without going into detail. Uchiha Yutaka quickly summoned medical ninja to treat Uchiha Madara. As for Shin, he was merely exhausted, with his chakra severely depleted. He had made it through the entire mission without injury by relying on the Flying Thunder God, aside from the final time he used Izanagi to protect himself.
They stayed at Uchiha Yutaka's place for a few days. Once Madara's injuries began to improve, the two refused Yutaka's offer to stay and returned to the clan grounds.
"Never drag me into another mission with you again. You're a walking disaster." With that, Shin headed straight back to his courtyard.
The little maid was overjoyed to see Shin return. Thanks to her attentive service, he went right back to living in luxury, once again enjoying the treatment of a landlord. As her gentle hands kneaded his shoulders, he sipped sake in the garden's hot spring and sighed, "Now this is the life."
Unfortunately, the next day, someone came to summon him, saying that Uchiha Tajima wanted to see him.
Shin rubbed his forehead and grumbled irritably, "Can't a man get some peace? That old geezer."
After complaining for a bit, he got up and headed for the largest compound at the heart of the clan grounds. He entered the assembly hall upstairs, then followed a Genin's lead through the back. After two turns, they stopped outside a door. The Genin knocked softly. "Clan Head, Young Master Shin is here."
"Let him in," Uchiha Tajima called from inside.
