Su Liangliang now understood why Uchiha Shin had done this. He wanted Taishang Laojun and the others to stall; the longer they stalled, the more dissatisfied everyone would become with them.
Doing so was tantamount to digging their own graves.
"Taishang Laojun and the others must have thought of this as well. They probably won't keep stalling, will they?" Su Liangliang asked after giving it some thought.
"They may understand certain things, but that doesn't mean they can necessarily do them," Uchiha Shin said.
Su Liangliang understood. This was everyone's flaw: you understood all the principles, but actually putting them into practice was another matter entirely.
And so, nearly half a month passed. Taishang Laojun and the others still made no move. They kept saying they were handling internal matters, that the Buddhist Sect and Dao Sect were too large and had too many affairs that needed to be properly dealt with. Otherwise, they would face punishment, and the Buddhist Sect and Dao Sect would surely fall into chaos, which would be detrimental to the situation across the Three Realms.
Although their words made some sense, most people understood what they were really doing.
As a result, even more people gathered around Kunlun Mountain to protest, demanding that Taishang Laojun and the others accept punishment.
"If we keep stalling like this, the situation will only become more and more unfavorable to us. It'll just deepen people's bad impression of us." Tathagata Buddha walked over to Taishang Laojun's side and looked down at the vast sea of people below the mountain.
"Let it deepen, then. Their bad impression of us has already taken root in their hearts. From now on, we needn't concern ourselves with how they see us. This time, we've already lost all public support," Taishang Laojun said calmly.
