Just as Toon had expected from the start, by the time the carriage reached the desolate outskirts, it was already midnight.

Just as Mirai sat alone outside Royal Aunt City's gates in misery at midnight, the sound of rolling wheels suddenly came from the distance.
Was someone still coming to Destiny City this late? Mirai rose to his feet. He had been squatting for so long that his legs had gone numb.
Mirai looked toward the approaching carriage by the sound of its wheels. He could clearly see that it was a horseless carriage. Several people were still seated inside, but in the darkness of night, he could not make out their faces.
As the carriage drew closer and closer, before Mirai could see who was inside, the other party spoke first.
"Yo, isn't that Young Master Seung of the Newman Family?"
The other party could apparently see him clearly from a distance and even recognized him. That voice sounded familiar.
"Captain Kassel?!" Mirai cried out in surprise. He had not expected such a coincidence!
The guards atop the gate saw that it was Captain Kassel of the Wasteland Legion. They quickly turned the winch and opened the gates. Mirai climbed into Kassel's carriage and entered the city with him.
