After leaving the hospital, Mirai looked out at the deserted streets.

It was already past one in the morning, and the normally noisy L City had fallen asleep.

Mirai took out his phone and kept adjusting the dispatch fee to twenty pounds until a driver accepted the order.

After he waited in the autumn wind for about ten minutes, a taxi slowly approached from the distance.

"I really don't want to pick up fares in the old town," the driver complained as he drove. "It's too chaotic over there. I can only come back empty."

Mirai nodded without replying. Watching the buildings race past, he carefully studied the system in his mind.

After about half an hour, the car slowly stopped on a street outside the old town. No matter what, the driver refused to go any farther in.

In fact, refusing to enter the old town seemed to have become standard practice among Los Angeles taxi drivers, especially late at night.
