With a sharp gaze, Mirai gripped the steering wheel and fought to steady the car, gradually bringing it back onto the main road.

Suddenly, a bullet punched through the door and grazed his dark thigh, tearing into the flesh.

Blood instantly stained his trousers red.

"Be careful, boss!" Shadow said. "I'll take care of this and come right back."

As she spoke, Shadow hurled her beacon forward. A few seconds later, she vanished from Mo Ran's sight again...

Meanwhile, the car was slowing down. Mirai moved into the passenger seat, took out a package, and slung it over himself. When the moment was right, he opened the door and headed straight into the woods.
