"Oh... I understand."
When the waiter saw that he looked decent, he took out the menu and began recommending the house specialties.
People like him could sense a person's intentions. Ever since Mirai had entered, he had known this customer was kind-hearted, so he hurriedly offered recommendations without worrying about being scolded.
Mirai flipped through the entire menu. There really were many fresh dishes. Following the waiter's introduction, he ordered four dishes and a soup, along with two flasks of sake.
The waiter decided he was a wealthy, risk-averse man and happily left.
After a while, the dishes filled the table and the wine was poured.
As he drank, Mirai glanced around. The food and wine at this inn were both excellent, but why was there no one here?
"Waiter, come here..."
The waiter hurried over. "You wanted to see me?"
"Ah! I think your restaurant is quite good. So... why are there only a few people here at mealtime?"
The waiter had thought he was going to ask something else. When Mirai said this, the festive liveliness gradually faded from his face.
"Ah... don't mind it, honored guest. You should just eat and drink well..."
Just as the waiter was about to leave, Mirai grabbed him.
"Why? Is something being hidden???"
"No, no..." the waiter hurriedly explained. "It's not that I don't want to tell you. It's just... if you find out, perhaps even this meal won't taste sweet anymore..."
The more Mirai heard, the more intrigued he became. After wandering the world for so many years, there's nothing that could make me lose my appetite. "Tell me! What is it?"
"Y-you... do you really want to know?"
Mirai saw the waiter's Ink and pulled him over. "Speak. Even if you say something wrong, I won't blame you!"
