He raised his eyes and stared into Naruto's. Two pairs of equally vivid blue eyes met, but Mirai's were smiling.
"But then again, Naruto is Naruto. You have your own way of doing things. I won't interfere. I just want to say... your mother and I don't want to see you get hurt..."
Naruto froze for a moment at his words, then nodded heavily.
Kushina looked at the two people most important in her life and revealed her flower-like smile.
Mirai patted his shoulder and continued, "That faint, unusual fluctuation you sensed earlier should have come from the daughter of the Queen of Roran, whom Tanro murdered. She can wield the power of the Dragon Vein..."
Naruto nodded, then asked, "Dad, what should we do next?"
Mirai hesitated slightly before saying, "We'll get close to the Princess of Roran. Even now, she doesn't know her mother was killed."
"You want to save her?"
Kushina frowned. She possessed as much information as Mirai did. With her intelligence, she could imagine that Tanro had killed the queen yet kept her daughter alive until now in order to use the queen's power to control the Dragon Vein.
Her mother had been sacrificed by others, yet she herself was still being exploited. The Princess of Roran was truly pitiful.
"Yeah." Mirai nodded. "No matter what that guy intends to do with the Dragon Vein, we can't let him succeed."
"We need to move quickly. If our opponent senses our intentions, it'll be far too difficult to take the Princess of Roran away from right under his nose."
As Mirai spoke, he glanced at Kushina and Naruto. The latter said, "Then I'll lead the way."
Mirai patted Naruto's shoulder and said, "Don't get too far ahead of Kushina and me. Also... don't act rashly when
