After a long while, Mirai finally came to his senses after Kurenai's reminder. He stopped complaining and understood her intentions as well. Smiling in satisfaction, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude. "Thank you for reminding me, Sister Kurenai. I almost went down the wrong path."
Seeing the confident smile on Mirai's face, Kurenai was stunned. She had forgotten that the young genius before her was only four years old.
Coming back to her senses, Kurenai felt certain that her face had turned red. To dispel the awkwardness, she smiled at Mirai and deliberately raised her voice. "Haha, children are quite charming when they're confident too."
Kurenai wanted to spend more time with him, but she figured his little companions must be waiting for him, so she could only suggest that Mirai go off on his own.
Kurenai did not give up, though. She still escorted Mirai to the training ground where he and his friends had arranged to meet.
"Go play with Mirai when you get there. I'll take you home later," Kurenai said with a smile.
"No problem, Sister Kurenai. I can go back by myself," Mirai quickly refused.
"Hehe, that won't do. I promised Aunt Keiko that I'd bring you home. You can't make me break my word! It's settled. Go play—don't keep your friends waiting." Kurenai smiled and waved Mirai off.
Knowing how resolute Kurenai was, Mirai stopped putting on airs. After waving goodbye, he excitedly went to find his little brothers.
"Ah, the boss is here!" The little girl Noriko Andor had sharp eyes. She spotted Mirai the moment he appeared.
Hearing the little girl's cry, 1, the lackey, immediately reacted and ran over to Mirai with a grin. "Haha, Boss, you finally came. We've been waiting for you for ages."
