"Was it you?!" Mirai tilted his head, lips curling. Why did this guy look like he was gloating? What was wrong with Grandma? What? Her disciple had been attacked, yet she hadn't appeared to protect him in the first place. What kind of teacher was she?
"What's wrong?!" Seeing Mirai's obviously poor expression, Nawaki quietly asked. He wasn't angry.
Mirai shook his head. "Actually, I think they shouldn't have tried to assassinate me. You're the one who should've been assassinated."
Nawaki was stunned by Mirai's words. What did that mean? He had tried to comfort him, only to be told that he should have been assassinated? Could they still be happy friends after this?
"After all, you're Hashirama's grandson!" Mirai sighed, wondering whether being born into Nawaki's family was a blessing or a curse.
"Ahahaha..." Nawaki scratched his head and suddenly felt that Mirai made perfect sense. After all, he was the hope of the Senju clan and Konoha's future Hokage. Anyone who tried to assassinate Mirai was an idiot! They should have attacked this little kid instead.
Looking at him, Mirai had no desire to keep talking nonsense with him. Who knew whether stupidity was contagious?
When the students saw Mirai come to school today, they were all shocked. Many of them came from prominent families and had heard about what happened yesterday. They had thought Mirai would hide at home for a while, but they hadn't expected him to come in. Lu Jiu did not think much of it.
"Mirai, are you all right?" In terms of their relationship, Minato was currently the closest to Mirai in class. He had only learned about Mirai's assassination attempt that morning and had planned to visit during lunch break. Seeing Mirai return, he finally relaxed.
"I'm fine. Only someone else isn't."
