Hidden Shadow Snake Hands! Anko's voice rang out just as Orochimaru's fell silent.
His right hand shot toward Orochimaru, transforming into four snakes that lunged at him.
Bang!
The snakes' heads slammed into Orochimaru's upper body, instantly swallowing him before smashing a large hole into the tree behind him!
"Dead?" Anko murmured.
"This really hasn't progressed at all." Orochimaru suddenly appeared behind Anko. He placed a hand on her shoulder and flicked out his snake-like tongue. It was obvious that he hated her, yet he still remained patient.
Anko stood frozen. The sky was clear, yet incredibly dark. Crows cawed all around, scattering black feathers into the air.
"Protect yourself for me," Orochimaru said, licking Anko's cheek with his tongue. His icy voice sent chills down her spine.
After an unknown amount of time, Mirai slowly woke from his sleep. He glanced outside and found that the tree hollow looked exactly the same. It was already night.
"Kiba, why didn't you wake me up so we could take turns?" Mirai rubbed his eyes and clenched his fists. He felt that his stamina had mostly recovered, and the wounds on his hands had clearly been healed by divine power.
"Brother Mirai, you're awake." Ikeda's somewhat weak voice echoed through the tree hollow.
"Hm? Hinata?" After hearing Yasuda's voice, Mirai knew that Yasuda must have been keeping watch alone.
"You girl, you've been standing guard for so long. Aren't you tired?!" Mirai was both angry and distressed.
"I couldn't help you during the battle. Let me help you now."
"Ikeda..." Mirai knew that was simply the kind of person Ikeda was. He could not help but sigh before asking, "How was it? Did anyone pass by here?"
"Yes. Inoue and Luwan's group passed by once, but they didn't fall for the
