Mirai turned his head to look at Akagi Hōten as though nothing had happened.
Hearing Mirai's question, Akagi Hōten's heart skipped a beat. After carefully considering it, he realized he did not seem to have said anything that might offend Mirai, and gradually began to feel pleased with himself. He said ingratiatingly, "If that woman dared mistreat you, sir, then even if you hadn't done it, I wouldn't have let her off."
Mirai nodded lightly. "Anything else? If nothing happened, I'll be leaving."
Akagi Hōten had only just received orders to visit Mirai. His superiors had instructed him to win Mirai's favor for the Land of Grass, and now that goal had clearly been achieved. Akagi Hōten bowed and said, "If you need any help, please come find me in the Village of Grass. I will do my utmost!"
Mirai did not respond to Akagi Hōten. He led Rock Lee and the others out of the blood-soaked meatball shop.
Once outside, the view suddenly opened up, and the faint sense of oppression in Mirai's chest gradually faded.
Although he regretted Matsushima Haru's death, he did not blame himself. He had given Matsushima Haru a chance, but she had failed to seize it. She had no one to blame but herself.
He had even less reason to care about Akagi Hōten's flattery. Akagi Hōten was a true ninja. Mirai disliked people like that, so naturally he had no intention of speaking further with him.
Mirai paid no mind to the bloodstains on the ground or the two corpses. He knew Akagi Hōten would take care of everything.
As Mirai pondered whether this had been an order from the Land of Grass or from Orochimaru, who liked operating behind the scenes in the Land of Grass, Sakata Kaze
