Chapter 18: First Place
Ye Han's hands began forming hand seals at lightning speed. He moved so fast that by the time everyone realized what he was doing, he had already finished. His speed left them astonished all over again. The earlier battle had been so intense that few had noticed this detail.
How could anyone's hands move that fast? Seven seals a second? Eight? They couldn't even tell. No wonder Ye Han had been so skilled with the Body Flicker Technique, Clone Technique, and Substitution Technique during the fight. His hand seals were almost too fast to see.
Oki's expression darkened. He admitted it: he was jealous. The shinobi world was simply unfair. His father had taught him that from the time he was young: some people were naturally gifted, some had exceptional talent, some worked hard, and some were blessed with brilliance.
Ye Han, despite being so young, seemed to have every advantage. It was infuriating how unfair the world could be. Jealousy was only human; what Ye Han was showing now was enough to make any shinobi jealous.
"Rat Seal! Don't think you're the only one who can use ninjutsu!" Oki shouted at Ye Han. He began forming hand seals, though his speed was nothing to brag about. Fortunately, he only needed three seals. Ye Han, on the other hand, needed many more, so their speeds weren't all that different.
"Fire Style: Triple Great Fireball Technique!" Ye Han unleashed a Fire Release technique. He had come up with it by accident last time. It was a little underwhelming: essentially, it fired three Great Fireballs in quick succession, turning the Fireball Technique into a string of consecutive fireballs. It relied mainly on his exceptionally fast hand seals, but Ye Han could see room for the technique to improve.
