Godin's Death

Soul power infection meant that one party's soul power had forcibly invaded another's body. Destructive soul power would corrode and damage the invaded person's body through soul power itself.

The victim had to use their own soul power to neutralize the external soul power that had entered their body.

However, depending on the circumstances, the time required to neutralize the residual external soul power within the body varied.

It could take as little as a few minutes, or as long as several days, dozens of days, or even years.

If the soul power invasion was not dealt with immediately and the invading soul power was allowed to wreak havoc inside the body, the consequences could be severe: soul power could deteriorate, or even become unusable altogether...

Godin needed to focus on dealing with his soul power infection. They did not dare travel along the main road, instead following sparse woodland paths leading north toward Thunderstar Fort.

The road was littered with the corpses of soldiers from Abandoned Bone City, frightening the knights badly.

They did not know that while they had been trapped in that mountain forest, Monkey Seal had led men to attack their rear.

The soldiers who had been dividing spoils among the abandoned vehicles had now become cold, discarded corpses.

Godin took in the sight. He had already barely suppressed the invading soul power within him, but the scenes before him stirred him up, and he could not help coughing up blood.

"Colonel!"

Seeing Godin like this, the knights nearly fell into despair. The knights who had stayed behind to cover their retreat had not caught up either. They must have fled...

Only three knights remained at Godin's side. The army was nowhere to be seen. Other than the dead, they had not encountered a single living
