Summary of Major Naruto Characters

This article recounts some of the characters who appeared in the original work to facilitate your viewing. In the future, you can also use this as a reference for Naruto fanfiction; the accuracy is guaranteed to be high. When the time comes, you can point at this article and ask those authors, "Hey? What's going on! Was that person born at this time?!" Hahaha.

Note: The birth dates and graduation times of some characters are very clear; for those that are not, they are uniformly assumed to have graduated at 10 years old (the normal graduation age).

Naruto Chronicles (most characters are ninjas of Konoha).

8 years before Konoha: Hiruzen Sarutobi, Homura Mitokado, and Koharu Utatane are born.

Years before: Hiruzen, Homura Mitokado, and Koharu Utatane undergo training under the guidance of the First and Second Hokage.

Konoha Year 1: Konoha is established. In the same year, the First Hokage, Hashirama, dies in battle; Madara Uchiha fakes his death; the Second Hokage, Tobirama, succeeds him.

Year 1: Tazuna (the drunkard who builds the bridge in the Land of Waves) is born.

Year 6: Dan Katō is born (estimated).

Year 8: The "Ninja Training Facility" is established, and the first batch of 6 students graduates.

Year 10: Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade are born.

Year 16: Dan graduates (at 6 years old). Institutions including the "Ninja Training Facility" and surrounding military and internal affairs "facilities" are collectively referred to as the "Ninja Academy," meaning the Ninja Academy is officially named!

Year 15: Fugaku Uchiha (father of Sasuke and Itachi) is born.

Year 16: Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru graduate (at 6 years old) and train under Hiruzen Sarutobi (at 4 years old).

Year 17: Teuchi (the future owner of Ichiraku Ramen) is born. (I don't know if this is true; I actually thought the owner of Ichiraku was older than the Sannin.)

Year 18: The Ninja Academy teacher selection exam is implemented for the first time. (Were there no teachers before? I guess the exact meaning is that the Ninja Academy gradually became formalized and focused, so the selection of teachers could no longer be casual.)

Year 19: Brothers Hiashi Hyuga and Hizashi Hyuga are born.

Year 20: Nawaki (Tsunade's younger brother) is born; Mikoto Uchiha (mother of Sasuke and Itachi) is born. In the same year, the First Great Ninja War breaks out, the Second Hokage passes away, and the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, succeeds him (at 8 years old) (there is a discrepancy with the time in my previous book, but it doesn't matter). Gaara's father, the future Fourth Kazekage, is born.

Year 22: Shibi Aburame (Shino Aburame's father) is born.

Year 23: Inoichi Yamanaka, Choza Akimichi, and Shikaku Nara (the older generation of Ino-Shika-Cho) are born.

Year 25: Yoshino Nara (Shikamaru's mother) is born; Tsume Inuzuka (Kiba's mother) is born.

Year 26: The Ninja Academy undergoes its first major expansion.

Year 27: Yashamaru (Gaara's uncle) is born.

Year 29: Raidō Namiashi (one of Minato's later bodyguards, the one with a scar on his left cheek who was beaten up by the Hidan and Kakuzu duo) is born; the Ninja Academy establishes a kunoichi class; Kaiza (Inari's stepfather, the grandson of Tazuna) is born.

Year 30: Aoba Yamashiro (the second of Minato's bodyguards, wears sunglasses, saved Raidō Namiashi with crow genjutsu, and was beaten up by the Hidan and Kakuzu duo) is born. Baki is born. Mikoto Uchiha and Nawaki (at 10 years old) graduate.

Year 31: Genma Shiranui (the third of Minato's bodyguards, the proctor for the fourth stage of the Chunin Exams who chews on a senbon) is born.

Year 32: Ebisu (tutor to the Third's grandson, Konohamaru) is born; Kisame Hoshigaki is born; Shibi Aburame graduates. The Second Great Ninja War breaks out. Nawaki dies in battle.

Year 33: Obito Uchiha, Rin, Asuma Sarutobi, Kurenai Yuhi, Ibiki Morino, Tonbo Tobitake (the one whose upper face, including his eyes, is wrapped in bandages and who says "The fact that my strength is greater than yours is the evidence" after catching a cheating candidate in the Chunin Exams), Mizuki (the one who incited Naruto to steal the Scroll of Seals), and Shizune Kato (Tsunade's top disciple and Dan Katō's niece) are born. Note: The time of Dan's death in battle (at 7 years old) is not very precise; it should be between year 33 and year 34. Tsunade develops hemophobia. The older generation of Ino-Shika-Cho (at 10 years old) graduates.

Year 34: Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy are born. Zabuza Momochi is born.

Year 35: Iruka Umino is born. Yoshino Nara and Tsume Inuzuka (at 10 years old) graduate.

Year 36: Anko Mitarashi and the duo Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu Hagane (the pair with bandages on their noses who used genjutsu to deceive candidates on the second floor of the Chunin Exam written test site and were later almost strangled by Kakuzu) are born. The Ninja Academy undergoes its second major expansion.

Year 37: Gato (the tycoon from the Land of Waves) is born. Yoroi Akado and Misumi Tsurugi are born. Hayate Gekko (the proctor for the third stage of the Chunin Exams who was always coughing and was later killed for discovering Baki's secret) is born.

Year 38: Baki (at 8 years old) graduates.

Year 39: Kakashi (at 5 years old) graduates. Yugao Uzuki (Hayate Gekko's lover, not in the manga, original to the anime) is born.

Year 40: Kakashi (at 6 years old) is promoted to Chunin. Baki (at 10 years old) is promoted to Chunin.

Year 41: Guy (at 7 years old) graduates; Obito (at 9 years old) and Rin (at 9 years old) graduate. Kakashi's father, Sakumo Hatake (birth date unknown), commits suicide. Kabuto Yakushi is born.

Year 42: Ebisu (at 10 years old) graduates; Asuma Sarutobi (at 9 years old) graduates; Kurenai Yuhi (at 9 years old) graduates; Shizune (at 9 years old) graduates. Baki (at 12 years old) is promoted to Chunin.

Year 43: Itachi Uchiha is born. Ibiki Morino (at 10 years old) graduates. Zabuza Momochi (at 9 years old) graduates, and he kills all the candidates in his graduating class.

Year 44: Genma Shiranui (at 13 years old), Obito (at 11 years old), and Rin (at 11 years old) are promoted to Chunin. The Kirigakure Ninja Academy graduation exam is improved (because of the Zabuza incident).

Year 45: Asuma (at 12 years old) is promoted to Chunin; Guy (at 11 years old) is promoted to Chunin. Haku is born. Temari is born.

Year 46: Iruka Umino (at 11 years old) graduates; Anko Mitarashi (at 10 years old) graduates; Anko trains under Orochimaru (at 36 years old). Kurenai Yuhi (at 13 years old) is promoted to Chunin; Kakashi (at 13 years old) is promoted to Jonin. In the same year, the Third Great Ninja War breaks out; Kakashi, Obito, and Rin train under Minato and head to the battlefield. Kankuro is born.

Year 47: Team Kakashi participates in the Battle of Kannabi Bridge. Obito dies in battle (Konoha thought he was dead; everyone knows what happened later). In the same year, the war ends. Kabuto Yakushi arrives in Konoha after the "Battle of Kikyo Pass" and is taken in by the orphanage. Konoha and Sunagakure sign a peace treaty. Rock Lee is born, Neji Hyuga is born. Minato assumes the position of Fourth Hokage (Orochimaru failed even to be a candidate). Konoha and Sunagakure hold their first joint exercise at the Ninja Academy.

Year 48: Naruto Uzumaki is born, Sasuke Uchiha is born, Sakura Haruno is born. Ibiki Morino (at 15 years old) is promoted to Chunin; Anko Mitarashi (at 12 years old) is promoted to Chunin. In the same year, the Nine-Tailed Fox is released by Obito and attacks Konoha. The Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, dies in battle. Iruka Umino's parents die in battle. Most of the Ninja Academy building is destroyed. The Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi (at 56 years old), once again assumes the position of Hokage. Gaara is born. Gaara's mother dies. Haku's (at 4 years old) parents die.

Year 49: Hayate Gekko (at 11 years old) graduates. Ebisu (at 17 years old) is promoted to Chunin. The Ninja Academy is under repair. In the same year, Anko Mitarashi is branded with a Cursed Seal by Orochimaru, and multiple ninja disappearances occur in Konoha. The Third Hokage catches Orochimaru in the act of developing forbidden jutsu and stops him; Orochimaru subsequently defects from Konoha, and Jiraiya also leaves the village to monitor Orochimaru.

Year 50: Itachi Uchiha (at 7 years old) graduates. Hayate Gekko (at 13 years old) is promoted to Chunin. Zabuza takes in Haku and teaches him to train. Orochimaru conducts human experiments and devotes himself to establishing a new ninja village. In the same year, the Kaguya Clan (also translated as the Taketori Clan) rises up against the tyranny of Kirigakure toward bloodline families, attempting to challenge one of the Five Great Ninja Villages with the power of a single clan, and is wiped out. Kimimaro is taken under Orochimaru's wing.

Year 51: Kabuto Yakushi graduates from the Ninja Academy for the third time (he fails the genin exam every time for the sake of his infiltration mission). Iruka Umino (at 16 years old) is promoted to Chunin. In the same year, Kakashi Hatake (with the Sharingan) enters the Anbu (at 17 years old). Konoha and the Land of Snow sign a treaty, and Kakashi executes a mission to escort the princess of the Land of Snow. Neji Hyuga (at 4 years old) is branded with the family's Cursed Seal. An attempted kidnapping of Hinata Hyuga occurs, and Hizashi Hyuga (at 32 years old) dies in his brother's stead. Itachi Uchiha (at 8 years old) awakens the Sharingan. Year 52: Konohamaru, Udon, and Moegi (the trio) are born. Inari (the grandson of the bridge builder) is born. Orochimaru performs his first body transfer.

Year 53: Hanabi Hyuga is born. Itachi (at 10 years old) is promoted to Chunin. The Ninja Academy undergoes its third major expansion. In the same year, Inari's biological father dies.

Year 54: Itachi (at 11 years old), half a year after being promoted to Chunin, is internally selected to join the Anbu and subsequently joins the squad. In the same year, Sasuke Uchiha, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi enroll (at 6 years old). Half a year after Itachi joins the Anbu, the incident of Shisui Uchiha throwing himself into the river occurs, and Itachi awakens the Mangekyō Sharingan. Yashamaru (Gaara's uncle) dies, and the character "Love" is carved onto Gaara's forehead. From then on, Gaara is nearly killed by his father (the Fourth Kazekage) several times.

Year 55: Itachi Uchiha (at 13 years old) is promoted to Anbu Captain. In the same year, the Uchiha Clan Massacre occurs; Itachi defects from Konoha and joins the Akatsuki. Afterward, Orochimaru has his arm severed by Itachi, and after determining that he cannot take Itachi's body, he defects from the Akatsuki. Akatsuki members begin to operate in the ninja world.

Year 56: Orochimaru establishes Otogakure.

Year 57: Akamaru (Woof!) is born. Kabuto Yakushi begins participating in the Chunin Selection Exams, failing 6 times afterward. Temari (at 12 years old) graduates. Kaiza becomes Inari's stepfather. Kimimaro's terminal illness is discovered; Orochimaru, in disappointment, is forced to perform his second body transfer.

Year 58: Kankuro (at 12 years old) graduates.

Year 59: Rock Lee, Neji Hyuga, and Tenten (at 12 years old) graduate. Orochimaru's plan to destroy Konoha enters the implementation stage, and Sasuke becomes his new target. Gato becomes the de facto ruler of the Land of Waves, and subsequently, Kaiza is publicly executed. The plot begins!

Mission accomplished!
