Dai Yunze sat alone in his room, cross-legged on the bed, meditating and cultivating.
It was not that he did not know Shrek was competing in its first match today. He simply needed a little more time to think things through. Besides, he now had something more important to do than compete.
After returning to Shrek Academy from the Star Dou Great Forest, Dai Yunze had sensed a mysterious, unfathomable power slowly awakening within his body, though it had not been particularly noticeable at first.
When he first sensed that power, Dai Yunze had not known what it was.
Not until now.
After the earlier battle against the Evil Soul Masters, the power reviving within him seemed to have responded to the changes in his heart and begun revealing its true nature. Last night, Dai Yunze had started actively reaching out to that power, and only then had he finally glimpsed its source.
Time.
It was the time-attribute ability he had never been able to activate.
For some reason, a switch seemed to have been flipped on the time attribute he had previously been unable to control, without his knowledge. It had then gradually awakened, bringing his innate abilities closer to completion.
As the time attribute awakened, Dai Yunze's various abilities suddenly began coming together into a cohesive whole. His mental power grew stronger with the passage of time, seemingly benefiting from the many profound insights time brought him. His soul power was also growing rapidly; time seemed to have accelerated his body's absorption of the various energies within it. Within time, too, scenes from his past played before his eyes like a film, and he watched his own life as though he were a spectator. From infancy to death, then from infancy again to the present.
