Jiraiya was tall and broad-shouldered, and wore a Forehead Protector with the character for "oil" on it. His white hair reached down to his waist, and red markings beneath his eyes had grown longer as he matured.
Jiraiya was a student of the Third Hokage, and the teacher of Minato Namikaze and Nagato Uzumaki. He was also one of the people who had brought peace to Konoha. During the Second Shinobi World War, he had earned the title of one of the Konoha Sannin alongside Orochimaru and Tsunade. From then on, his fame had spread throughout the Shinobi World.
"Lord Jiraiya, when did you return to the village? You should have let us know in advance."
At the Konoha Military Police Force headquarters, Shisui Uchiha had just arrived. Looking at Jiraiya in the holding cell, he spoke politely.
"Are you Shisui Uchiha? Even outside the village, I've heard quite a few rumors about you." Jiraiya sized up Shisui in turn, studying the village's latest rising star.
He had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan and could use a highly complete Susanoo. He had reformed the Konoha Military Police Force and dispelled the rift between the Uchiha Clan and the villagers.
He was also politically astute. He had invested early in the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, dismantled the alliance between the Shimura, Utatane, and Mito clans, and forced the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, to relinquish power.
Each of these things showed how different Shisui Uchiha was from the traditional Uchiha.
"Lord Jiraiya, you flatter me. They're just rumors. I only followed the Fourth Hokage's Will of Fire and did what was expected of me." Keeping a low profile while quietly building his influence had always been Shisui's principle.
"You've done more than just what was expected of you."
