Ch. 161The Four-Tails Jinchuriki, Rōshi

Akatsuki’s Kisame attacked Rōshi to capture the Four-Tails Jinchuriki, but Rōshi’s Lava Release overwhelmed the group’s other members. Kisame revealed his mastery of Water Style and countered Rōshi’s attacks, leaving Rōshi and Son Gokū facing a dangerous fight as Kisame unleashed a Great Waterfall Technique.

  • Rōshi fought off Akatsuki’s subordinates with his iron staff and Lava Release, killing them one by one.
  • Kisame used Hidden Mist Technique to conceal himself, but Rōshi countered the mist with high-temperature steam.
  • Son Gokū warned Rōshi of a hidden attack, and Rōshi recognized Kisame and Samehada as the source.
  • Kisame used Samehada to drain Rōshi’s chakra cloak and countered Rōshi’s lava with Water Style.
  • Kisame blocked Rōshi’s attempt to retreat and unleashed Water Style: Great Waterfall Technique.

Ch. 162Kisame Hoshigaki VS Rōshi's Complete Tailed Beast Transformation

Rōshi fully transformed into the Four-Tails and turned the battle against Kisame into a contest of volcanic power and water. Kisame fused with Samehada and trapped Rōshi in a massive water prison, but Rōshi triggered the volcano beneath it, leaving Kisame to make one last attempt before the prison evaporated.

  • Kisame's waterfall attack threatened to overwhelm Rōshi's Lava Release defense, so Rōshi used Complete Tailed Beast Transformation and unleashed Flower-Fruit Mountain.
  • Rōshi fired a compressed lava needle that nearly pierced Kisame, but Samehada blocked it and was badly damaged.
  • Rōshi raised a vast volcanic formation with Scorching River Great Eruption, and Kisame fused with Samehada to gain a shark-like form.
  • Kisame flooded the battlefield and trapped the transformed Rōshi in a colossal water prison, then attacked him with water sharks.
  • Rōshi detonated the volcanic energy beneath the prison, causing magma to surge back and rapidly evaporate the water.
  • Kisame replenished the shrinking prison with chakra and prepared one final attack against Rōshi before it dried up.

Ch. 163The Ineffective Kotoamatsukami

Shisui Uchiha defeated Rōshi, took some of the Four-Tails’ chakra, and recruited Kisame Hoshigaki. Later, Kisame’s account of Danzō’s actions led Shisui to suspect that Kotoamatsukami had weakened or been countered, possibly through the World Will, leaving him wary of threats to come.

  • Rōshi used Lava Release: Granite to survive Kisame Hoshigaki’s Thousand Feeding Sharks, but both fighters were exhausted when Shisui Uchiha arrived and incapacitated Rōshi with Genjutsu: Sharingan.
  • Shisui entered Rōshi’s mental space, took some of the Four-Tails’ chakra, and offered Kisame Rōshi in exchange for Kisame leaving Akatsuki and working for him.
  • Three months later, Kisame told Shisui that Uchiha Madara had guided him into defecting from Kirigakure, joining Akatsuki, and entering New Harmony United Victory Village.
  • Shisui suspected that Kotoamatsukami’s influence over Shimura Danzō had weakened or been countered, and the system warned that the World Will might be involved.
  • Shisui decided to eliminate visible enemies before addressing hidden threats, while noting the Uchiha Clan’s strength ahead of Konoha Year 58.
  • The system rewarded Shisui with Kisame Hoshigaki’s absolute loyalty for changing Kisame’s fate trajectory.

Ch. 164The Xueyi Tribe

Shisui found the ruined Yuki Village and learned from the surviving brothers Ice and White that Kirigakure had attacked their clan after it refused to supply more recruits for the Fourth Mizukage’s secret experiments. He reassured the brothers that he had no interest in experimenting on them and asked Ice to demonstrate Ice Release.

  • Shisui reached the dilapidated Yuki Village while investigating suspicious searches by Kirigakure shinobi in the Land of Water.
  • Shisui found Ice and White hiding in a ruined room, gave them food, and learned they were the last surviving descendants of the Yuki clan.
  • Ice explained that the Fourth Mizukage had recruited bloodline-clan members for a secret force, but rumors said they had been used as human experiment subjects.
  • Ice said the Yuki clan and other bloodline clans refused further summons, after which Uchiha Madara led Kirigakure Anbu in an attack that killed or captured the clan.
  • Ice told Shisui that he and White had survived by hunting with their inherited Ice Release, and Shisui asked Ice to demonstrate it.

Ch. 165Mist Ninja Attack

Shisui used his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan to defeat a Kirigakure squad that had tracked down Feng and Haku. The brothers asked to accompany him to Kirigakure, and Shisui accepted while warning them that the journey would be dangerous.

  • Shisui recalled Haku's kindness and fighting abilities while observing the brothers practice Ice Release.
  • A Kirigakure squad entered the house, identified Feng and Haku as Yuki Clan remnants, and attacked Shisui and the brothers.
  • Shisui trapped the squad in a Sharingan genjutsu, controlled their captain, and used him to kill the other Mist Ninjas before making him take his own life.
  • Feng asked Shisui to take him and Haku away, hoping to survive and eventually avenge the Yuki Clan.
  • Shisui revealed that he was heading to Kirigakure and accepted the brothers as companions, cautioning that he could not guarantee their safety.

Ch. 166Blood Mist Plan

Shimura Danzō ordered Kirigakure’s Anbu to continue capturing Kekkei Genkai clans and protect his secret laboratory, where he and Orochimaru pursued the Blood Mist Plan. Shisui entered Kirigakure with Ice and White, then left the brothers behind as he went to find Danzō, while the chapter ended with Danzō explaining his plan to extract and transplant bloodline factors.

  • Danzō dismissed reports of a squad’s destruction in the ice fields and ordered his Anbu to focus on capturing Kekkei Genkai clans and placing the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal on new recruits.
  • Shisui entered Kirigakure disguised as a refugee with Ice and White, then gave the brothers money and told them to wait for him at an inn.
  • Shisui vanished to investigate Danzō, while Danzō descended through the guarded levels of his secret laboratory beneath the Mizukage Building.
  • Danzō ordered his Anbu to dispose of a sick woman and her dying child among the prisoners held as test subjects.
  • Danzō met Orochimaru in the laboratory, where Orochimaru complained that the latest subjects had weak bloodline concentrations.
  • Danzō explained that the Blood Mist Plan aimed to purify and transplant genetic factors from Kekkei Genkai clans to create greater power.

Ch. 167Scorpion

Shisui infiltrated the Mizukage Building and fought Scorpion, who used human puppets of the Fourth Mizukage and Third Kazekage. Danzō arrived as Shisui battled Scorpion, and Danzō’s weakening restraint under Kotoamatsukami left their relationship in doubt.

  • Shisui found a puppet wearing Karatachi Yagura’s skin in the Mizukage’s office and dodged its poisoned needles as the building’s alarm sounded.
  • Scorpion revealed himself and attacked Shisui with human puppets of Karatachi Yagura and the Third Kazekage.
  • Shisui countered the puppets’ techniques and summoned Susanoo to block the Third Kazekage’s iron sand needles.
  • Shisui’s Susanoo smashed through Scorpion’s iron sand defense and tore apart the Mizukage’s office.
  • Shimura Danzō arrived with Kirigakure Anbu, recognized Shisui, and reflected on how Kotoamatsukami’s hold over him had begun to weaken.

Ch. 168Fated Showdown (1)

In Year 57, Shisui Uchiha confronted Shimura Danzō, who had escaped Kotoamatsukami’s control and awakened a Mangekyō Sharingan. Their Susanoo battle ended with Danzō’s destructive eye technique breaking through Shisui’s defenses, but exhausting Danzō’s eyes and leaving him kneeling.

  • Shisui asked how Shimura Danzō had broken free of Kotoamatsukami, and Danzō said he wanted to defeat Shisui himself.
  • Shimura Danzō activated Susanoo and attacked Shisui with Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere, while Scorpion watched and then withdrew.
  • Shisui advanced his Susanoo to its third form and fired Susanoo: Ninety-Nine Style, prompting Danzō to raise his own Susanoo to the same form.
  • Shisui and Shimura Danzō clashed their Susanoo weapons, with Danzō summoning the lightning trident Ajagava.
  • Shimura Danzō used Eye Technique: Shivama to erode Shisui’s Susanoo, but the strain made him stop, bleed from his left eye, and drop to one knee.

Ch. 169Fated Showdown (2)

Shisui defeated and absorbed Shimura Danzō, then used his newly acquired ocular techniques to kill the Kirigakure Anbu. He left Scorpion alive after Scorpion offered to surrender and learn from him.

  • Shisui suppressed Danzō with Kōringon, severed his arm, and absorbed him with Yamata after Danzō’s final attempt to fight back failed.
  • Shisui discovered he had inherited Danzō’s Shivama (Destruction) technique and tested it on a Kirigakure Anbu.
  • Shisui drew the remaining Kirigakure Anbu into Kotoamatsukami: Radiance and killed them within its genjutsu space.
  • Shisui turned his attention to Scorpion, who surrendered and asked to learn from him.
  • Shisui agreed that Scorpion could join his crew, changing Scorpion’s fate trajectory.

Ch. 170I Object

After Shisui Uchiha returned from his devastating raid on Kirigakure, he dismissed fears of retaliation and rejected Fugaku Uchiha’s offer to make him clan head. In the Land of Rain, Nagato and Black Zetsu discussed Akatsuki’s hunt for the remaining Tailed Beasts and its dwindling manpower, while Nagato privately questioned Black Zetsu’s assumptions.

  • At a meeting in Naka Shrine, Setsuna Uchiha praised Shisui Uchiha’s raid on Kirigakure, while Tenwa Uchiha worried about retaliation.
  • Shisui told the Uchiha elders that Akatsuki had also taken out Karatachi Yagura, leaving Kirigakure too distracted to retaliate.
  • Fugaku Uchiha proposed making Shisui the Uchiha Clan Head, but Shisui objected and suggested Setsuna take the position instead, leaving Fugaku in charge.
  • In New Harmony United Victory Village, Nagato wondered how Shisui had defeated Uchiha Madara, and Black Zetsu deflected his suspicions without revealing the truth.
  • Black Zetsu reviewed Akatsuki’s need to capture the Five-Tails Kokuō, Six-Tails Saiken, and Seven-Tails Chomei, then left to assess potential recruits.
  • After Black Zetsu left, Nagato stared at the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and murmured that he knew more than Black Zetsu thought.

Ch. 171Shisui's Promise

Shisui returned home and reconciled with Konan, who shared her past and asked him to spare Nagato if they ever became enemies. Meanwhile, Orochimaru discussed Danzō’s disappearance with Kabuto before an unknown visitor emerged from the shadows.

  • Shisui gave Konan a crystal hair flower, and she embraced him after asking him not to stay away so long again.
  • Konan told Shisui about her history with Yahiko and Nagato and asked him to leave Nagato a chance to survive; Shisui promised.
  • Konan confessed her love for Shisui and kissed him.
  • At his secret base, Orochimaru learned from Kabuto that no one had found any trace of Shimura Danzō and renewed his determination to achieve immortality.
  • Orochimaru sensed someone in the corridor and attacked with Hidden Shadow Snake Limbs, but the stranger cut down both snakes and addressed him as an old friend.

Ch. 172Sasuke's Progress

Sasuke sparred with Itachi and showed off his improved Fire Style, but Itachi defeated him with stronger ninjutsu and genjutsu. Shisui arrived, taught Sasuke the Rasengan, and then asked Itachi for his assessment of Naruto’s temperament.

  • Sasuke used controlled Fire Style attacks against Itachi, who countered them and subdued him with genjutsu.
  • Shisui arrived at the training ground, and Sasuke proudly told him about his recent progress.
  • Shisui taught Sasuke the stages of learning the Rasengan so he could spar with Naruto using the same technique.
  • Shisui asked Itachi how he had adapted to managing the Konoha Military Police Force and what he thought of Naruto’s temperament.

Ch. 173Konoha 58

In Konoha Year 58, Obito Uchiha defected, prompting Minato Namikaze to send Shisui after him while hoping he could be brought back. Shisui also accepted a mission to contain the Dragon Vein's rampaging energy and sent Itachi Uchiha and the Five to pursue Obito as he rested in the Land of Fire.

  • Sasuke successfully formed a Rasengan while Shisui reflected on how Naruto and the Uchiha Clan differed in this life.
  • Obito Uchiha defected from Konoha, shocking Shisui and forcing Minato Namikaze and the Uchiha Clan to address the crisis.
  • Shisui proposed pursuing Obito, and Minato assigned Shisui to lead a team with Kakashi and Rin Nohara while delaying Obito's wanted notice.
  • Minato gave Shisui a mission to suppress the Dragon Vein's chaotic energy near the ruins of Roran, and Shisui accepted.
  • Shisui assigned Itachi Uchiha, Kimimaro, Kidomaru, Sakon and Ukon, Jirobo, and Tayuya to pursue Obito together, with their departure set for the next day.
  • Obito rested beneath a tree in the Land of Fire while Shisui prepared for the missions.

Ch. 174Obito Uchiha's Defection

Obito Uchiha agreed to defect from Konoha and join Akatsuki, then learned that Shisui Uchiha had sent Itachi Uchiha and five others to capture him. Obito continued toward the Land of Rain, while Itachi's team found his trail and prepared to pursue him.

  • Black Zetsu told Obito Uchiha that Konoha had discovered his defection and sent a capture team led by Shisui Uchiha.
  • Black Zetsu clarified that Shisui was staying behind and that Itachi Uchiha, Kimimaro, Kidomaru, Jirobo, Sakon and Ukon, and Tayuya were pursuing Obito.
  • Obito disparaged Itachi and vowed to defeat him to prove that he deserved greater recognition.
  • Black Zetsu warned Obito about the pursuers, then left; Obito continued toward the Land of Rain.
  • Kidomaru found fresh traces showing that one person had traveled toward the Land of Rain, and Itachi identified the traveler as likely Obito.
  • Itachi's group rested briefly and prepared to continue the pursuit.

Ch. 175Takigakure Rogue Ninja - Kakuzu

Shisui Uchiha reached the ruins of Roran to help restore the seal on the Dragon Vein, which was close to erupting. Before he could prepare for the task, Nagato and Akatsuki broke into the underground chamber, bringing the Takigakure rogue ninja Kakuzu with them.

  • Shisui entered the Roran ruins with a descendant of the ancient kingdom and sensed the Dragon Vein leaking energy beneath the sand.
  • A Roran descendant opened the underground entrance and explained that Minato Namikaze's seal had loosened after its marked kunai vanished.
  • Shisui learned the Dragon Vein might erupt within one to two months and that the Roran descendants wanted him to restrain it while they restored the kunai.
  • An explosion shook the underground plaza, but Shisui determined that the Dragon Vein was not the source.
  • Nagato and seven Akatsuki members blasted through the ceiling and confronted Shisui, who recognized Kakuzu among them.

Ch. 176The Six Forms of Susanoo

Nagato demanded the Dragon Vein and his missing Rinnegan from Shisui, but Shisui refused and revealed that the eye had been destroyed. Enraged, Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and ordered it to attack Shisui.

  • Nagato offered Shisui the leadership of Akatsuki, but Shisui refused to join and rejected Akatsuki's claim to the Dragon Vein.
  • Nagato explained that Akatsuki intended to use the Dragon Vein's energy to strengthen the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
  • Nagato offered to give up the Dragon Vein if Shisui returned his left Rinnegan, but Shisui said the eye had been destroyed.
  • Nagato flew into a rage over losing his Rinnegan and ordered Kakuzu to handle the others while he fought Shisui.
  • Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, which broke through the underground plaza and slammed its arms down at Shisui.

Ch. 177The Sprouting God Tree

Shisui Uchiha manifested Complete Body Susanoo and fought Nagato, who controlled the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path in the underground plaza. Shisui wounded the statue and severed its arm, then launched Yasaka Magatama as the battle continued.

  • Shisui Uchiha awakened Complete Body Susanoo, towering over the plaza and stunning Kakuzu and the descendants of the Ancient Kingdom of Roran.
  • Nagato challenged Shisui from atop the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and sent its arms to seize Susanoo.
  • Shisui pierced the statue’s right palm with his Spiral Bone Sword, then evaded its counterattack with Susanoo’s chakra wings.
  • Shisui fired Susanoo: Ninety-Nine Style, embedded bone arrows in the statue’s left arm, and detonated them to damage it.
  • Shisui propelled Susanoo forward and severed the statue’s left arm at the elbow, then launched Yasaka Magatama.

Ch. 178The Follow-Up

Shisui devoured both severed arms of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, greatly increasing his Hagoromo Otsutsuki and Ten-Tails bloodline development as Nagato lost control of the battle. Nagato fired a Tailed Beast Bomb that detonated the Dragon Vein and obliterated the ruins of the Ancient Kingdom of Roran, but Shisui escaped using a Flying Thunder God kunai.

  • Shisui used Yamata to absorb the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path's severed arm, gaining Ten-Tails life energy and tailed beast chakra that increased his bloodline development.
  • While Shisui's Susanoo kept Nagato occupied, it severed the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path's other arm, and Shisui absorbed that one too.
  • Nagato's weakened statue fell further behind Shisui's Complete Body Susanoo, and Nagato grew increasingly desperate over his losses.
  • Nagato forcibly took control of the statue and made it fire a Tailed Beast Bomb, despite Shisui's warning that the blast could trigger the underground Dragon Vein.
  • The Tailed Beast Bomb destroyed the platform and set off the Dragon Vein, unleashing an enormous explosion that engulfed the Ancient Kingdom of Roran.
  • Shisui appeared beside a Flying Thunder God kunai beyond the ruins, revealing that he had escaped the explosion with a backup plan.

Ch. 179Survivors

Shisui escaped the Dragon Vein explosion and returned toward Konoha, while Kakuzu survived by sacrificing four hearts and planned to gather replacements. Deep beneath the ruined site, Nagato survived in a mangled state inside the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, consumed by an unconscious obsession with Shisui.

  • Shisui used the Flying Thunder God Technique to escape the explosion, lamented the Dragon Vein's destruction, and set off to report back to Konoha.
  • Kakuzu fled the blast by detonating four hearts to boost his speed, then decided to collect replacement hearts before returning to Amegakure.
  • The explosion left the Ancient Kingdom of Roran ruins irradiated and uninhabitable for years.
  • Deep underground, Nagato emerged from the surviving remnant of the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, badly mutilated but alive.
  • Nagato repeatedly called Shisui's name without consciousness while the statue slowly absorbed lingering energy and began to repair itself.

  • The Six, led by Kidomaru, confronted Obito Uchiha and announced that they had orders from Shisui Uchiha to capture him.
  • Obito identified the members of The Six and demanded a duel with Itachi Uchiha to prove himself worthy of Shisui's regard.
  • Itachi accepted the duel despite Kidomaru's warning, and he and Obito began their fight with matching Great Fireball Techniques.
  • Obito gradually gained the upper hand in their sword exchange, while Itachi refused help from the other five.
