The tunnel behind the Magic Fairy shop was dark, secluded, and long. Fortunately, Landen's magic had improved a little these days; now he could already cast an observational spell like Mage's Eye, which let him walk quietly over the ground full of sand and puddles.
After winding this way and that, Landen saw a stone door. Once he opened it, the tunnel became much wider. Bluestone slabs paved the path, the rock walls on both sides had been polished smooth, and every ten meters there was a faintly glowing Magic Pattern Plate for illumination.
At the end of the passage was an arched door. The frame was decorated with golden patterns, and the designs on the door panels were so intricate that just one glance made his head ache. Landen was about to go around it, but the arched door opened, and the brightness behind it made him narrow his eyes.
After entering the arched door, Landen saw a circular room roughly ten meters in diameter. The room's floor and walls were all white marble, entirely carved with magic-pattern arrays. In the center of the room stood a two-meter-high round platform made of white jade, and atop it was a pure-white Magic Fairy.
"What... species is this?" Landen had now seen fewer than ten kinds of Magic Fairies, but he had never seen one like this—crystal clear and giving off a holy radiance.
That Magic Fairy was only half a meter tall, her eyes tightly shut, floating in midair above the jade platform. A great quantity of magic elements flowed in and out through her back.
