On the afternoon of the 10th, Wendy and Lily came out of the Training Array. Ever since Landen had taken each girl through a round of instruction yesterday, the girls had switched from training alone in the array to training in pairs: Lily and Wendy in one group, Sophia and Firefly in one, Johnny and Redbird in one. Each pair first guided each other's magic in the Training Array, then went to the workshop to practice the Magic Patterns Landen had designed for them, and finally went into the Learning Magic Matrix to make up their basic knowledge.

After the two girls came out of the array, it should have been Johnny and Sophia's turn to come train, but Wendy didn't see a trace of either of them.
