Magic Beasts casting magic was simplest when they used the magic patterns on their bodies to control the corresponding magical elements and achieve the intended effect. For Totapara the Frost-Wolf, the path of becoming a Mage that Landen had pointed out was alluring, but actually putting it into practice would not be so easy.
"Then how did the Fox Clan become a branch of psychic magic? It's not just Beastmen foxes who can use psychic magic—many Magic Beast foxes can use it too."
Landen countered, "Casting magic ultimately still requires understanding its principles. Human Race Mages may cast spells with their hands, but once they reach High-Rank and can directly sense the Magic Web, they no longer need a physical casting medium either!"
The three Magic Beasts nodded thoughtfully. Landen's explanation was not all that clear to them, but at least it meant they did not have to kill one another and could still be roommates.
After confirming Blaze's condition, Landen did not linger. Night-Kirin City had just completed its mobilization; even with Lannia teleporting over to coordinate matters alongside Redbird, there were still far too many things that required his decision.
"My lord, at present, all the usable Black-Scaled Horses across the Gallop Eight Tribes, every Post Station, the two mining areas, and the garrison forces on the Eastern Region border add up to around four hundred. There are also around two hundred Pack Beasts suitable for riding," Redbird reported as soon as Landen arrived in Night-Kirin City.
"Additionally, Frost-Wolves, Wind Wolves, and level-zero forest wolves total more than a hundred. And the Ankylosaurus Tribe that only recently pledged allegiance—all their Magic Beasts are being deployed to the Western Region border."
"Good. Have the Black-Scaled Horse herds head west first. Those east of Night-Kirin City should preferably arrive within
