Inside a tent in the Beastmen camp, Zhuxi Forest Cat, the Forest Cat Retainer, looked at Olmert Chixi beside her as though he were an idiot.
"I'm afraid I didn't make myself clear just now. Their Majesties cannot curse him."
As she spoke, Big Cat raised her left paw. A glaring wound ran across her forearm.
"This is?" Olmert stared at the wound in shock, and after a long while, only managed to squeeze out two words.
Normally, while in their incarnate state, Retainers protected by the mighty power of the gods were not only impervious to blades and weapons, but immune to all manner of magic. Unless the opponent was a Legend or Demigod, they simply could not harm an incarnation. This was why the Beastmen, despite lacking High-Ranks, could contend with the Human Race. Yet now, a Retainer had actually been wounded by a Human Race High-Rank. It was truly unheard of since the founding of the Royal Court.
"The sword in his hand can pierce through Their Majesties' power and stab directly into the body," Zhuxi said calmly. "Originally, I was also afflicted by some kind of curse. My left arm could no longer feel Their Majesties' divine power."

"However, before His Majesty departed, He made a deal with the Magic Web. He would no longer curse Landen Gallop, and the Magic Web would no longer curse me."
"Doesn't that mean that as long as Landen blocks Iowa Valley, our army won't be able to push through?" Olmert Chixi said anxiously. "If the army stays blocked like this, the grain and provisions alone will burn through an astronomical amount. The Royal Court can't possibly borrow from Abadi again!"
"Yes, this probably needs to be considered over the long term," Zhuxi nodded. "Lord Olmert, I have few
