Abolish the Council
Korhal Revolutionary Army soldiers, dressed in crisp, brown Confederate Marine Corps uniforms with stand-up collars and red armbands with gold wolf heads on their right shoulders, surrounded the Palatine Assembly Hall. More than 400 8mm Electromagnetic Rifle were already loaded with bullets.
The bronze roof of the Palatine Assembly Hall gleamed like gold in the midday sun. Angus Mengsk, draped in a heavy, bright red robe, entered the portico with its massive cylindrical columns and wide black doors, surrounded by his son Augustus and many soldiers.
In the hall supported by relief columns, statues of the Korhal pioneers adorn the pristine white walls. The restless councilors in the anteroom's audience seats resemble anxious chicks in a coop, while a swarm of fanged snakes lurks outside, watching them intently.
Suddenly, soldiers wielding Gauss Rifle, their bayonets gleaming in the lamplight, surged into the hall. The startled senators immediately rose to their feet, furiously berating Angus, who was surrounded by soldiers.
"Mengsk, you're playing with fire!" Angus demanded sharply from Lennox Caven, the Senate's main opposition leader and Senate Consul, as if he didn't see the gleaming, sharp bayonets.
"You are blaspheming the justice, democracy, and freedom that the Palatine Assembly Hall represents!" Lennox declared emphatically, as if he were still the Speaker presiding over the council. "Ever since our glorious and great ancestors convened their first meeting here, the clash of words has permanently replaced the cold swords and bullets, and democracy and justice are the swords hanging over our heads!"
"This is betrayal! The authority of the Senate must not be questioned. Angus, are you determined to become a dictator in Parliament?"
Angus simply looked at him calmly, his expression solemn and dignified. "Perhaps you didn't hear me, so I'll say it again. Korhal is independent."
"You're a madman." Lennox was an old-fashioned politician, rarely showing his emotions, but now his expression resembled that of a roaring lion.
"Tarsonis will not back down; strong countermeasures are on the horizon. Economic blockade? Fleets mobilization?" he shouted.
"Angus, you will pay for your betrayal!"
Lennox took a few steps closer, rolling up his sleeves as if he wanted to knock Angus to the ground, but the gleaming bayonet made him dare not take another step forward.
"Shut him up." At that moment, Lennox, who felt that Angus wouldn't dare to do anything to him, suddenly saw his young and strong son Augustus turn his head and say to his loyal subordinates.
"Arrest these enemies of the people and traitors of the Korhal."
A young officer waved his hand, and the soldiers pressed bayonets against the chests of the distinguished senators. The soldiers, who knew nothing of respect or dignity, roughly ripped off the senators' bright red robes, which represented tradition and status, forcing them to bend over in humiliation.
The senator who had always fought alongside Angus took off his robe and sat in his seat, silently watching everything unfold.
"Greed, corruption, bribery, nepotism, factionalism." Angus walked up to the pillar facing the audience, behind him a flagpole with the red and blue Confederacy Jack and the Korhal's three-star flag hanging on it.
As Augustus's father pronounced the senators guilty, photographers and journalists who had accompanied the army began to document this historic moment. Augustus personally removed the Confederacy flag and replaced it with the Mengsk Family's golden wolf flag.
"You were the beginning of the corruption within the Korhal government, or rather, Tarsonis was the financier of your political activities. Perhaps your assets have already been transferred to Tarsonis's or even Umojan's interstellar bank, but the evidence will be plentiful. All senators, including those who are preparing to flee, will be arrested by the Revolutionary Army and imprisoned to await their final public trial!"
Subsequently, Augustus ordered his soldiers to take Lennox and other senators away. The revolutionaries had evidence that Lennox had close ties to a Old Families of Tarsonis and that he had received funding to obstruct Angus's decree that would make the Korhal independent of the Confederacy government. Others behaved even worse, accepting bribes without restraint, and corruption and extravagance were rampant.
Once the clamoring senators had all fallen silent, the council chamber finally quieted down. Under the massive, heavily gilded chrome dome of the council chamber, rows of soldiers stood in a circle on the tiered, progressively higher tiers of the grandstand.
Then, Angus faced the camera and delivered his next speech. "The members of the Korhal Senate have taken money from Tarsonis and betrayed the interests of Korhal. Many of these people are people you have never seen or heard of, which means they were not elected by the will of the people."
"And we, the Pan-Terran National Unity Front," Angus said, uttering the somewhat tongue-twisting name, "Will reclaim the powers of those senators and re-elect the members. From the Southern Confederacy cities to the Northern city unions, from Fairstens to Sterling, we will redistribute these one hundred seats, and the election process must be fair, open, rigorous, and transparent, with everyone having the right to cast their vote."
"We will reorganize a new, clean, and efficient government, and draft a new, sacred, and inviolable constitution as the cornerstone of all laws. Any unjust and unreasonable taxes imposed on the people of Korhal by the Tarsonis Confederacy are hereby permanently abolished."
"."
After Angus solemnly made a promise to the people of Korhal, Augustus quietly left the Palatine Assembly Hall and went to a Revolutionary Army headquarters temporarily set up in a side hall of the council.
The uprising has only just begun. Revolutionary Army, brigades, and battalions scattered across the planet are still seizing Confederacy Army camps and outposts according to the planned schedule. Augustus must oversee the entire operation.
The mobilized regular Revolutionary Army numbered approximately 600,000, with 150,000 former Korhal Revolutionary Army turned to the cause, and an auxiliary force of about 500,000 militiamen and semi-automatic rifle-wielding personnel joining the battle. In a single day, the Korhal, with a population of only 40 million, had amassed over one million soldiers on various battlefields, and many more took up arms to join the fight.
The soldiers who participated in the revolution may have been working at their posts just days before, exchanging goodnights with their unsuspecting wives before going to sleep. But the moment the assembly order arrived, they silently changed into the dark gray uniforms of the Revolutionary Army, put on the golden wolf armbands, and rushed to the assembly point.
The Revolutionary Army received widespread support from the Korhal people, and unprecedented horrific riots broke out in various cities of Korhal IV. The frenzied crowds seized the main signal tower of the UNN Global News Network, occupied the city Town Hall, and set fire to the deserted military camps. The nearly insane people threw the news network editors off high-rise buildings, snapped the throats of corrupt officials, and trampled the surrendered Confederacy soldiers to death.
