Jacob City
Jacob City resembles a city built on a bronze-colored metallic mountain.
The original city was simply a cluster of houses built by the colonists of the Jacob using planks from the colony Mothership on slag and scrap metal.
As the colonists aboard the Jacob Mothership discovered abundant heavy metal mines and Ardien Crystal near the Jacob's landing site, they learned how to identify and smelt metals using the Mothership's computer database.
After that, day after day, year after year, the slag and scrap metal dumped into the canyon gradually formed high hills.
The first ruling class to emerge chose to build their luxurious palaces atop the high slag heaps, and more and more people built their huts on the high ground. As the Jacob's crash site prospered, all the slag and scrap metal from the colony began to be dumped into the canyon where the colony Mothership crashed.
Later, the population boom overcrowded the original settlements, and several large Moria construction companies began planning to build a large city capable of accommodating a large population. So they rebuilt the foundation, making it blend into the canyon.
Today, millions of skyscrapers and landmark towers are built on towering mountains made of scrap metal and slag, with the tallest buildings more than 30,000 feet (about 6 miles) apart from the lowest. The astonishing height differences between buildings and roads resemble a massive termite mound.
The central airport in Jacob City is built on the highest peak of a metal mountain, amidst swirling clouds and mist. Gale-force winds whistle across the docking platform, where all aircraft are firmly held in place by magnetic attachment devices.
Kel-Morian Kel-Morian people were perfectly capable of installing glass outside this open-air airport, but they still adhered to an old proverb, stubbornly believing that the giant eagle could not take flight without Hurricane.
Compared to the Terran Confederacy and the Umojan, the Kel-Morian people have integrated their traditions and customs into every aspect of their lives. Their ocean merchants are shrewd and cunning, but if their families are insulted, these ever-smiling merchants will instantly turn into a powder keg.
When Augustus stepped off his transport ship, his guards, dressed in dark gray uniforms, were already standing in two rows at the hatch, holding long C-13 Gauss Rifle and standing neatly at attention.
The diplomat who arrived at the airport to greet the foreign guests was dressed in a suit and tie, wearing glasses with frames similar to goggles and sporting a slicked-back hairstyle.
Opposite the Augustus Guards were two rows of Kel-Morian in greyish-white dress uniforms, carrying KMC Gauss Rifle, wearing blue berets, and with insignia featuring sword and shield designs outlined in amber at their waists. This was the insignia of the Moria Guild Guards, an elite force that rarely appeared on the front lines but was renowned far and wide.
Augustus recently learned that Guild Guards was not the name of an elite unit; in fact, all Kel-Morian, from the Ripper to the Laborer Auxiliary Corps, proudly called themselves Guild Guards. The misunderstanding between the Terrans and Kel-Morian manifested in many ways, with the Kel-Morian still believing that the Terran Confederacy's Re-Social Soldiers were clones created in containers.
Augustus made no comment on the diplomat's hairstyle, which closely followed the fashion scene in the main city of Tarsonis, but instead focused his attention on the busy workers on the berth platform.
Compared to the well-dressed, slender diplomats, the ground crew and stevedores on the docking platform were all wearing thick windproof work clothes and goggles to protect themselves from Moria's strong ultraviolet rays and direct sunlight. They were generally short and stocky with strong muscles in their arms.
These workers had dark, rough skin, not unlike the Kel-Morian people of Meinhoff, while the upper-middle class of Moria, sitting in luxurious offices, seemed like a different race.
"Hello, I am Augustus Mengsk." As the Kel-Morian diplomat approached Augustus, he removed his combat gloves and shook hands with him in a friendly manner.
"The renowned leader of the resistance, the wolf of the Mengsk family, the eagle of Korhal IV, the savior of all Terrans." The diplomat adjusted his glasses and rattled off a string of titles.
"Your victory at Mar- Sara has spread throughout Moria and to other planetary and asteroid settlements. Your name is known to everyone in the Koprulu Sector; no one is unaware of it."
"That's perfect. I thought the Terran Confederacy would keep quiet about this defeat." Augustus expressed his surprise. For the past two weeks, the Revolutionary Army Fleets had been in a hyperspace voyage, and he had indeed been unable to read the latest news.
"Alpha Squadron was the star of the Confederacy Navy yesterday, and few can remain indifferent to this enormous defeat—UNN morning news anchor Mr. Liberty was hosting his program when a backstage crew accidentally switched to a recording." The diplomat's tone was full of sarcasm.
"Edmond Duke's speech announcing his Korhal Revolutionary Army infuriated his own uncle, and now—everyone knows that the Alpha Squadron suffered its most devastating defeat since its founding at Mar- Sara."
"The Confederacy spokesperson claimed that only one Alpha Squadron battlecruiser had been lost in Mar-a- Sara, and that Edmond Duke was just a rebel in disguise. But they couldn't find the real Duke to explain—and a week later, the Confederacy claimed that Duke and his Alpha Squadron had been misled by the rebels, injected with dangerous psychotropic drugs, and were speaking insincerely," the diplomat said.
"What a ridiculous joke."
"The idiots in the Confederacy can't even figure out how to rob Peter to pay Paul," Augustus commented with a smile.
"That's truly gratifying!"
"Indeed, that's wonderful! You are considered a hero by many Kel-Morian people." The diplomat shook hands with Augustus again, this time firmly.
"I swear I am very proud of it," Augustus chuckled softly.
Alpha Squadron dealt a heavy blow to the Kemorian fleet during the Battle of Kemorian. After learning that Alpha Squadron had been defeated by the Revolutionary Army, thousands of Kemorians were talking about this young heir of the Khammonsk family and were very curious about what kind of person he was.
Is he the devil portrayed in Confederacy propaganda, or a freedom fighter who champions justice?
After the defeat in the Guild Wars, the Kel-Morian, who were deeply affected by the unequal treaties, hated the Terran Confederacy even more. For many Kel-Morian people, whoever dealt a heavy blow to the Terran Confederacy was their friend.
"Please follow me. The board representatives are waiting for you; their time is more valuable than gold." After saying this, the diplomat led Augustus to a hovering luxury car not far away, while his entourage was led to several other cars.
"This is my bodyguard." Augustus pointed to Sarah Kerrigan was following behind him. She was wearing a close-fitting dark gray military uniform, with a black belt around her waist that accentuated her S-shaped figure, and her red hair was flowing.
"She is truly a beauty," the diplomat smiled, offering his usual compliment.
"Thank you." Kerrigan looked up at him, smiled slightly, tossed her bright red hair, and went to check if the car Augustus was going to ride in was safe.
