"The executive has detected a human spaceship, a Behemoth-class Battlecruiser, and its parameters have been uploaded to the Star Shuttle star array."

On the magnificent bridge of the Protoss Expeditionary Force, which departed from its homeworld Aiur, Star Shuttle, the expeditionary Fleets executive Tassadar clad in a purple, black, and High Templar robe, gazed at the hologram projected above the star array.

The golden bridge, adorned with beautiful precious metals, gems, and azure Kydarin Crystal, resonated with melodious, musical whispers as the crystals swayed. All the Protoss, clad in magnificent gold and blue armor and white robes, were bathed in the brilliant starlight and ripples of crystal light emanating from the energy-shaped walls.

In the icy blue, radiant eyes of the Protoss Empire's executive officer, a dark red human battlecruiser with a hammer-shaped bow was hurtling toward him at its maximum speed.

More than a hundred rectangular and conical human warships and fighter jets followed closely behind the flagship. The orange-red and blue thruster exhaust plumes looked like tiny, trembling specks of light, as if they might be swallowed up by the darkness of the universe at any moment.

"Approaching firing range." At the control panel inlaid with blue gems, a Protoss Templar Knights reported to Executor Tassadar. He had no mouth or vocal cords, yet he could still speak. His voice carried a slight Psionics echo, as if he were speaking in a mountain stream that could create an echo.

"Lens calibration in progress."

"Is this a fleet carrying diplomats?" Standing beside the silent Executor was a Protoss woman dressed in a white hooded robe. Her simple robe was adorned only with a single Kydarin Crystal pendant, and the hem reached all the way to the ground. Long nerve bundles, adorned with gold ornaments, were neatly tied behind her back.

This is Zamara, Preservers from the Aiur Velari Clan. Her duty is to follow Tassadar, the most outstanding executive officer of the Protoss Empire, and his expeditionary Fleets, which is ordered to purify all Swarm threats, and to record the events that occur in each battle to enlighten future generations.

Although the Protoss are not mammals, their female bodies are captivating and elegant even by human standards, with smooth, gray or blue skin and an S-shaped waistline.

"They activated all their weapon systems. This isn't self-defense, because humanity is using all the energy the shield needs for its weapons. This is a clearly hostile attack," the executive officer's deputy replied.

Through the mental link network of Khala, connected by nerve bundles on the back of their heads, the Protoss on the bridge simultaneously realized why the humans had done what they did.

Having witnessed the Protoss Fleets's main gun firepower in destroying Zha Sara, the human commanders concluded that their ship shields were utterly useless, and thus gambled everything on their laughable ballistic weapons and primitive energy weapons.

Without a doubt, this was a suicidal attack. Even in terms of sheer numbers of warships, the Protoss outnumbered the humans by hundreds of times. The gap between the Protoss and humans was so vast that they could look down upon this young race from their superior position; in their eyes, humans were nothing more than an infant waving stones at a human.

"Ignorance."

"A suicidal attack."

"The bravery of insects."

A calm, emotionless voice echoed across the bridge of the Star Shuttle. Humans might see their massive steel behemoths as the pinnacle of their power, but to the Protoss Empire, they were nothing more than piles of scrap metal and flies that could be easily swatted.

"Executor, the human spaceship has entered firing range. Should we destroy it?" a Templar Knights asked.

"They are the only human warships here; there are no others." Tassadar had been deep in thought ever since the Fleets arrived in Mar- Sara, hesitating to follow the Protoss Empire Conclave's orders to destroy the orange-gray planet.

"These humans have nowhere left to retreat, because their homes are behind them. If it were our planet that was about to be destroyed, we would rush towards the enemy one after another, even if it meant using our bodies to shield them from their blades and artillery fire."

"What a heroic soldier, what a tragic sacrifice."

At the same time, a feeling of respect and sadness was transmitted to all the crew members through Khala's telepathic connection, and the executive officer's subordinates all empathized with his grief at this moment.

For a long time, the Protoss Empire had been observing this young race since humanity first arrived in the Koprulu Sector. Their understanding of humanity far exceeded its appearance. Even humanity's home planet, Earth, once had Protoss probes and witnessed humanity's Apollo moon landing.

While the humans of the Koprulu Sector basked in a self-satisfied loneliness, acknowledging themselves as the only advanced intelligent race in the universe, they were unaware that a pair of eyes were closely watching them. Protoss scholars had been observing this race, witnessing humanity slaughtering each other, plundering planetary resources for development, and the rise and fall of various civilizations.

When Tassadar was over a hundred years old, the ancestors of the Terrans, Kel-Morian, and Umojan had just begun to thrive on their respective homeworlds. He watched as this race gradually multiplied and prospered.

"It's over." Tassadar calmly gave his order, "Enter the warp field and order a retreat."

"This human spaceship is utterly insignificant. You should destroy this planet; it has been infected by the Zerg and is terminally ill," the Preservers Zamara said coldly and decisively.

"If left unchecked, the Zerg will spread throughout the universe like a virus, and this sector will become a diseased and decaying part of the universe's body," she said.

"You were the first to discover the Zerg, Executor. You know we can't just stand by and do nothing."

"All of this is for the Dae'uhl Doctrine. The Firstborn has always followed in the footsteps of the Xel'Naga. We are the only righteous and just judges in this universe, the Preservers of the weak. We must eradicate the cosmic scourge, or more races will be destroyed."

"You know what I'm thinking. The only reason I'm retreating is because there are still many uninfected humans surviving on this planet," Executive Officer Tassadar said. "Besides destroying the planet, perhaps we have other ways to deal with the Zerg."

"But the Conclave's order is..." Zamara's light blue eyes flickered.

"I will explain to the Conclave," Tassadar said.

"You will face accusations from the Conclave and the heavy pressure that comes with them." Despite having considerable disagreements with Tassadar on this matter, Zamara accepted the executive officer's orders.

Because of Khala, the spiritual connection that links the thoughts of all the Firstborn, they can empathize and see things from each other's perspective. As a result, most disagreements and conflicts disappear in their infancy, and hatred and suspicion are resolved before they can escalate into disaster.
