Braxis, a frigid world on the border of the Terran Confederacy, is covered in ice and snow, with 60% of its landmass covered by ice and snow. The ice sheet, covering the continental area, is ravaged by gales exceeding 150 miles per hour caused by descending air currents.

If Char is a hellish landscape of oceans of lava, volcanic ash, and the smell of sulfur, then Braxis is the other extreme. Glacial continents, blizzards, and biting cold give this planet a different meaning—an ice cone etched by pain in the universe, a white hell where even the sky is frozen.

When the first settlers of the Terran Confederacy set foot on Braxis and the surrounding planets, the hungry and cold people endured great hardships to establish themselves in this icy world where the average temperature was always around -60 degrees Celsius.

The scarcity of high-energy gas resources in Braxis forced immigrants to seek other heat sources to sustain their basic lives and withstand the extreme natural climate that could destroy their homes.

Therefore, the settlements of immigrants in Braxis were mainly concentrated in a few settlements built around high-energy gas refineries, mining facilities, and polar research stations.

Polaris is the largest settlement on Braxis, a steel city standing amidst wind and snow. It was built on a vast plain, nestled among the planet's rugged, winding icy cliffs and deep valleys.

On the edge of the city of Polaris, immigrant-built houses covered in layers of white snow stand tall, while the bronze-colored boilers of the refinery gas plant supply heat and electricity to the buildings and streetlights along the narrow roads of the city.

The Governor's Confederacy of Braxis, located in the center of Polaris, is a silver tower. The lights and antennas at the top of the tower provide communication support for transport ships sailing between various settlements.

Once, a red and blue star flag of the Terran Confederacy still stood atop the governor's mansion in the immigrant settlement, signifying that Braxis remained as loyal to the Confederacy as ever, unwavering in the face of the revolutionary fervor that swept through several Outer Colonies by Augustus Mengsk's rebellion.

At this moment, on the Governor's Mansion, a black and red flag was fluttering in the biting cold wind. On this fluttering flag, a golden eagle with five stars on its head stood majestically above the earth.

Earthlings, and their stories, have long been a distant part of human history in the Koprulu Sector. Only when teachers mention humanity's achievements in the humanities, arts, and natural sciences do they utter a few words about the ancient Earth.

Even General Gerard DuGalle, the supreme commander of the expeditionary force who had fought for many years, had to admit that, setting aside the freezing temperatures and endless polar storms, the glaciers and frosty skies outside Polaris were surprisingly enchanting.

Outside the glass windows directly opposite the gate of the Braxis Colony Governor's Mansion lies the frost-covered ice plains southwest of Polaris City. The signal towers and camps of the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Force stretch for ten miles from south to north. Under the deep blue sky, the Expeditionary Force's base is connected by rows of anti-aircraft towers, anti-aircraft guns, and plasma cannons, resembling countless chilling blades stuck in the snow.

"Alexei, some say you hunted falcons naked on the eastern plains of Ursa in Braxis, and killed a polar bear-toothed beast with your bare hands while drinking vodka."

Gerard DuGalle was completely shrouded in a heavy black overcoat, his dark brown uniform adorned with medals at the buttonholes. At his waist tucked a.50 caliber C-150 Ronin pistol, a powerful weapon capable of severing the spine of a North American bison with a single shot.

General DuGalle was a formidable and ruthless figure, with a solid build and an upright posture like a monument. DuGalle lean and lean face was framed by deep-set, resolute eyes. He was calm yet extremely dignified, and no Council soldier dared to challenge his authority.

The general was stern and cold, and had never smiled since he appeared before his soldiers. Not even the most ridiculous clown could soften Gerard DuGalle's cold lips, and not even the greatest tragedy could bring a tear to this iron-willed soldier's eye.

Based solely on his numerous brilliant victories, Gerard DuGalle could be considered one of the greatest military leaders in the Earth Council. For most of his service before the age of fifty-six, DuGalle fought against Earth's enemies.

He was a tenacious and perfect soldier, and key members of the United Earth Directorate, politicians, and visionary leaders almost unanimously agreed that DuGalle was the best candidate to lead the UED Expeditionary Fleet.

When the threat of aliens first appeared before the precursors of the Earth Council, they quickly reorganized into a strong and powerful government. Earth places extreme importance on the purity of human genes, adheres to the ideal of human supremacy, and abhors all genetic modification and alien creatures.

As Earth continued to expand its Solar System Empire across the galaxy, the threats from alien and colonial rebellions never managed to bring down the Earth government.

Since the threat of the Zerg and Protoss emerged, the Earth government, with its usual iron fist and force, has summoned its most outstanding soldiers, vowing to eliminate Earth's enemies beyond its borders.

"Gerard, what I should have told you was that our Fleets is advancing unimpeded, the illegal government forces of the Terran Confederacy are fleeing in disarray, and the self-proclaimed noble descendants of exiles in Tarsonis are living in constant fear." Lieutenant General Alexei Stukov had just opened the door to the governor's office when a few fluttering, crystalline snowflakes landed on the edge of his thick leather boots.

Alexei Stokkov was much younger than General Dugal and was comparatively more easygoing. The soldiers of the Earth Expeditionary Force could see the witty humor in this bearded man's speech and his shrewd and commanding demeanor. The soldiers respected him and were impressed by Stokkov's foresight and military wisdom.

No one could underestimate this man who always carried a wine glass and vodka; the Bronze Gamma Shield Medal he received was proof of his courage. Alexei Stukov was a strategist who always smoked while calculating the battle situation, and when the ashes fell, the leader of the uprising was hanged in front of the Council headquarters in Cairo.

Alexei Stukov was gentle and easygoing, and he tended to think that this was because he was the father of four children.

"But I neither killed that Ursadon nor have any good news to tell you." Alexei Stukov lit a cigarette, seemingly unconcerned about his old friend's furrowed brow.

"The Terran Confederacy reacted quickly; they mobilized at least forty battlecruisers and countless aircraft to retake the Dylarian Shipyards. Our Fleets evaded the Confederacy's pursuit, but the threat from the Confederacy Fleets remains." He paced back and forth on the sunwood plank floor of the governor's office.

"Our intelligence was flawed. The Zerg and Protoss did not severely damage the Terran Confederacy, and their Fleets commander is not a complete idiot."

Alexei Stukov's tone grew more serious, clearly annoyed with the intelligence services responsible for monitoring the Koprulu Sector. In the original plan, the Terran Confederacy shouldn't have been an obstacle; the true enemies of the expeditionary force should have been the Zerg and the Protoss.

"In other words, our plan to invade Tarsonis, the capital of the Terran Confederacy, has to be postponed," Alexei Stukov concluded.

"This is dangerous news for us. The expeditionary force is far from Earth, with logistics and personnel supplies spanning 60,000 light-years. This means we will also have to conscript local population and resources," he said. "Once the Confederacy's bloated administrative machine fully catches up, the expeditionary force will be in an awkward predicament."

"What is the council thinking? If we could use weapons from our own land, would we still need to contend with the Confederacy Fleets?"

"No one knows, and no one questions it," DuGalle said. "Be loyal to the Council and humanity, and leave the rest to war. The Terran Confederacy will surely fall like the sun."

"This son of a bitch war." Alexei Stukov, with one hand in his pocket, walked over to DuGalle and looked out at the snowstorm outside the governor's mansion window.

In the distance lay mountain ranges piled high with snow, seemingly formed from accumulated snow. Gusts of wind, carrying snow and ice, swept across the landscape. A layer of dark clouds shrouded the dim horizon, and several striking blue lightning bolts streaked across the sky. Anyone who had lived in Braxis long enough knew that a storm was about to break.

On the horizon, several towering pyramid-shaped buildings can be faintly seen; these are ancient structures belonging to the Protoss colony. This is a cold, blue-white planet, unsuitable for most life forms known to humankind, but beneath its glaciers lie mysterious and ancient ruins.

The Protoss may have attempted to alter the climate of Braxis, but they ultimately left.

In the sky as far as the eye could see, four Valkyrie were piercing through dense storm clouds, their blue flames from their thrusters cutting through the frozen firmament.

"War is a demon, and we are the ones who unleash it," he said.

"Do the Terrans think we'd still be loitering in some backwater? That's a misconception. Braxis is a strategic stronghold for our dominance of the Koprulu Sector, and these fortifications are proof of that."

"However, if our warp drive is more advanced and faster than the Terrans', then we can gain the upper hand," Alexei Stukov said with a smile.

"If all goes well, when the Confederacy Fleets launches its attack on Braxis, they will realize that our Fleets has already arrived in Tarsonis."

"We possess a massive Fleets —far larger than the Terran Confederacy imagined." DuGalle stood with his hands behind his back. "Char and Aiur are our ultimate targets, and the Project Black Flag, which controls the newly Overmind, must be launched on schedule."

"To be honest, I'm not very optimistic about the plan to control the Zerg to fight for humanity—our understanding of this race is limited to what we see on the dissection table."

"It is the way of wise men to command wild beasts," Alexei Stukov told DuGalle.

"Sir, Dr. Narud wishes to see you." At that moment, a soldier in a dark military uniform walked in, the wing insignia on his shoulder indicating that he was a soldier of the Kronos Wing.

"Oh, Dr. Narud, that brilliant scientist?" Alexei Stukov said immediately, "Let him in."

"I've said it before, to deal with the Zerg and Protoss, these outstanding local scientists are indispensable."

As soon as he finished speaking, an elderly man in a suit and tie, with his hair neatly combed back, walked in. Of course, one didn't need to wear thick, warm clothing in the governor's mansion, but this kind of attire was quite unusual in Marshal DuGalle's headquarters, which was full of soldiers.

Dr. Narud is said to be an expert in Xel'Naga technology and the physiology of Zerg Protoss.

Although Dr. Narud is now a slow-moving old man, it does not prevent him from having a heart that yearns to resist the tyranny of the Terran Confederacy. When DuGalle's UED Expeditionary Fleet first met Narud, he was commanding a Confederacy Resistance Army.

As Dr. Narud was also a local with extensive knowledge of the Terran Confederacy and a seasoned military expert, he was also hired as General DuGalle's tactical advisor.

"Our research on the Xel'Naga and Protoss architectural ruins in Braxis is nearing completion, and the findings will certainly be applicable to warships and weapons." Dr. Narud was a staunch anti- Confederacy figure.

When the UED Expeditionary Fleet set foot on Braxis, Narud, who happened to be there, almost shouted "The king's army has finally arrived!" and couldn't wait to join the Earth Alliance.

"Also, I have some intelligence here about the Terran Confederacy's Psi Emitter and Psi Disrupter. It is said that they are sealed off beneath the main city of Tarsonis."

"You have done very well," DuGalle said to Dr. Narud. "Although I despise deserters who turn against their cause, you are clearly not one of them. You have proven your loyalty to the Council, and loyalty will surely be rewarded."

"The Psi Disrupter and Psi Emitter are crucial. If the Terran Confederacy uses them against us..." Just as Alexei Stukov was about to say something, the Holographic Projection on his desk lit up.

"A communication request?"

"Oh, that's from the Korhal Revolutionary Army. A few days ago, their people contacted me, claiming that their leader, Marshal Augustus, wanted to talk to me." DuGalle shook his head when he mentioned the word "Marshal."

"This is the largest and most powerful known rebel organization in the Terran Confederacy."

Due to its remote location, Braxis was never affected by the Guild Wars, the Korhal Rebellion, or the First Total War with the aliens. Even pirates rarely visited this frigid planet.

However, considering that Braxis always needs to trade with other surrounding colonies and the core world of the Terran Confederacy in exchange for necessary resources, it is not entirely isolated from the world and cut off from information.

Braxis was not entirely ignorant of the rebellious Korhal rebels and Augustus Mengsk.

"Hello, Admiral Gerard DuGalle, I am Augustus Mengsk." As the screen lit up, a handsome man with gray hair and gray eyes appeared. His gaze was as sharp as an eagle's, and his aura far surpassed that of the Confederacy Governor of Braxis.

"Excuse me, did you forget to add 'Respected' before this? Marshal Augustus Mengsk." Alexei Stukov scrutinized the gray-haired man behind the screen, thinking to himself that this self-proclaimed ridiculous marshal actually looked quite dignified.

"I believe that humble and polite Earthlings would not impose the formalities of the civilized world on uncivilized savages, sir," Augustus, looking at Alexei Stukov.

"Haha... I like you." Alexei Stukov looked at Augustus seriously for a few moments, convinced that this man was no ordinary person.

"Uh--" Dr. Narud smiled awkwardly and said to DuGalle.

"This is a confidential meeting; I think I should leave for a moment."
