Offense and Defense

The Epoch Clan's attacks seemed to have no regard whatsoever for friendly forces. Their blanket strikes inflicted devastating losses not only on the Zerg's armored beetles, but also on the Epoch Clan's elite soldiers.

If this scene of comrades slaughtering comrades had been seen by the other races, it would likely have caused an enormous uproar. But by sheer coincidence, aside from a few key departments, the video feeds being relayed to several foreign media outlets were suddenly cut off. Thus, only those present and a few departments closely involved in the operation knew of what had happened.

Some people, such as Ambrose, had already sensed that something was wrong. No matter who had issued this order, they were gambling with their own future. Moreover, Epoch Clan elders and high-ranking officials from other races were present. Issuing such an order was likely not something one or two Epoch Clan elders could accomplish.

Under normal circumstances, something like this could never have happened. But since it had happened now, some variable must have entered the equation. That was why Ambrose had screamed in terror and cursed furiously. This had completely exceeded his understanding. If he wanted to stay alive, he not only had to evade the Zerg's attacks, but also guard against knives stabbed into his back by his own people.

However, this indiscriminate blanket bombardment was remarkably effective. In an instant, it cleared out an entire area and cut off the route for Sarah and Terra to reunite with the main force.

"Have the Epoch Clan gone insane?" Terra swore, a rare occurrence for her. The Epoch Clan's actions had left even her dumbfounded. The area before them had already turned into scorched earth. Passing through it would make them perfect targets.
