Surrounded as she was, Sarah naturally noticed the changes on the battlefield and understood that the plan to rescue her had begun. To improve her chances of escape, she had to take a more proactive approach.

Her own troops were below. As long as she reached them, she would be safe for the time being. The energy she had been conserving all this time was meant to be unleashed at this very moment.

Her five energy-storage organs began outputting energy. A Negative Energy Shield suddenly appeared beneath Sarah's feet, and the soil it touched instantly vanished into nothingness.

With nothing left to support her, Sarah continued falling. The Negative Energy Shield beneath her feet kept coming into contact with fresh layers of earth and rock, continuously erasing them. It was as though she were riding an invisible elevator, plunging downward several times faster than before.

At the same time, her energy reserves drained frantically, like a balloon with a huge hole punched in it. Ideally, Sarah would have stalled a little longer and waited for the deeper soil layers beneath her to collapse, reducing the distance between herself and the open space underground.

Though their clumsy performance earlier had made it seem as though they were merely surrounding her without attacking, they had secretly reinforced the ground beneath her feet.
