"The other side used a special camouflage code to fool the system's self-check mechanisms!" Serena replied in her mechanical voice.

The commander was stunned. Had the enemy's skills really reached the point where they could deceive an AI of Serena's level? As for why Serena had detected the anomaly without receiving any further instructions, the commander had some vague guesses.

Although the commander held a position of great authority within the Epoch Clan, he did not fully understand how artificial intelligences handled certain issues. He only knew that all AI within the Epoch Clan could, to some extent, be considered subprograms of "Ying."

The computing power and algorithms possessed by subprograms naturally could not compare to Ying's. Sometimes, problems that a subprogram could not detect would trigger some sort of intervention mechanism, drawing Ying itself into action.

That was clearly what had happened now. Whether that was truly the case could be confirmed later by checking Serena's work logs, but this was obviously not the time to investigate it closely.
