The Epoch Clan War Star had served as the main force bearing the pressure for some time, drawing massive amounts of fire. The side facing the Zerg forces was already battered beyond recognition.
Although its interior had been repaired by Nano-robots, its surface had received no such treatment. This left gaps in what had once been an impregnable War Star.
As long as there were gaps, everything became easy. Zerg units were best at worming through cracks. Big gaps got big needles; small gaps got small needles.
The warships on the flanks were tied down. The War Star's firepower alone could no longer stop a Zerg charge of this scale. Very soon, the War Star met the same fate as the warships.
Although its main and secondary guns were still firing normally, the gaps across its surface were already crawling with Ancient Class units. They were searching for possible openings, or making openings themselves.
Whenever they found a hole, Space Octopuses of all sizes surged inside. Although the War Star was enormous, making the several-hundred-meter-long creatures seem insignificant before it, and destroying it was even more difficult.
But the same thing still held true: there were simply too many Zerg units.
As more and more Zerg units entered the War Star's interior, the Epoch Clan's main and secondary guns began falling silent around those openings. The silent zones rapidly spread outward.
The Zerg had no need to preserve the Epoch Clan War Stars as intact as possible for quick deployment after capture. Therefore, they destroyed them without restraint.
Point-blank Energy Cannon bombardments and electromagnetic bombs accelerated the War Star's downfall.
Without the powerful War Stars, which could both take hits and deal damage, those warships became even less capable of resisting the Zerg charge.
Some warships had already begun retreating
