Of all Ying's gifts—or rather, rewards—the one that benefited the Swarm the most was herself.
Through analyzing Ying and the relentless efforts of the Intellect research team, the Swarm had gained the ability to compile intelligent lifeforms.
Before this, every Swarm Intellect had been formed from a blank spiritual body produced by the Swarm Network, combined with the life experiences of a real existing person. Although the Intellects were absolutely loyal, those foreign memories did indeed influence their behavioral patterns.
But now, the Swarm could create new Intellects using blank spiritual bodies and intelligent lifeforms. Newly born, they were like sheets of pristine white paper, gradually stained with the distinct style of the Swarm under its cultivation.
To distinguish them from the Intellects, these new Intellect units were called Brain Bugs.
Luo Ying was the first Brain Bug born from the Swarm and had thus received her name from Rowan. Bearing many titles, she was extremely proud, considered herself the Swarm's true orthodoxy, and even looked down on the older Intellects.
Even Sarah, the public-facing Zerg Queen, had been given a nickname by her, one that deliberately emphasized the difference between them.
As a pioneer several thousand years older, Sarah had occupied a high position since the beginning and was deeply calculating. Even so, she found Luo Ying thoroughly irritating.
But as the first Brain Bug, Luo Ying had been granted extremely high authority by Rowan. And as the former second-in-command, Sarah inevitably had frequent dealings with Luo Ying in their daily work.
