She reached for the doorknob. Whether by luck the door was unlocked, or some helpful passerby had opened it beforehand, she did not know. With a light press and push, the Basement door slid open with a creak, revealing a figure tied up in the corner.

The flashlight beam swept over them, and the person instinctively shrank back. Looking at that familiar face, Haibara Ai's eyes widened in disbelief.
