After Naruto let go of the boy, the teenagers fled in terror, afraid he might change his mind. He had genuinely frightened them, and all they wanted was to get away from this madman as quickly as possible. As Naruto let them go, he thought he heard a sigh beside his ear, as though someone were lamenting something. Then again, perhaps there had been nothing at all. He assumed he was imagining things and paid it little mind.

Jiraiya looked at the filthy Mizunotsuki Shingetsu, then at the anger still lingering in Naruto's eyes, and immediately understood what had happened. He sighed softly. "Naruto, I know you were angry just now, but those ignorant villagers were simply afraid of a power they didn't understand. You shouldn't get angry with ignorant people like that. They aren't worth it."
Naruto looked at Jiraiya. Although he respected him deeply, he disagreed with those words. "Does being ignorant give them the right to hurt others however they please?" he asked coldly. "Does their ignorance mean I should forgive their mistakes? Does it mean they don't have to answer for what they've done? I disagree. I don't accept that reasoning. Everyone should take responsibility for their actions and face the consequences they deserve." By the end, Naruto was practically roaring.
