The Azure Continent was a world inhabited not only by humans, but also by dwarves, winged people, elves, orcs, demon beasts, the Demon Race, and Dragonfolk, along with the most mysterious race of all, the Tatan. However, the Tatan had disappeared tens of millions of years ago, leaving only one surviving branch: the giants.
These nine races ruled the Azure Continent. It was enormous, more than fifty times the size of the Naruto World. It had only one vast landmass, which covered eighty percent of the world, with oceans accounting for the remaining twenty percent.
Spiritual energy-natural chakra-was abundant here, and living creatures had long average lifespans. Humans could easily live to a hundred, and those who cultivated and entered the Mortal Realm could live to two hundred without any trouble.
Because most people were absorbed in cultivation, technology remained undeveloped, at a level comparable to Earth's Middle Ages. Yet cultivation flourished here, and its destructive power was no less than that of modern technology on Earth. Their development had simply taken a different direction.
The human world had three great empires occupying the eastern part of the continent, bordering the elves, with whom they frequently fought. These three empires were the oldest, the Tianheng Empire; the Great Zhou Empire, ruled by an empress; and the Aoyun Empire, which had risen later. The Tianheng Empire was the strongest, followed by the Great Zhou Empire, while the Aoyun Empire was the weakest. Together, they occupied most of the Azure Continent's eastern lands. Beyond them lay three hundred principalities of various sizes bordering the elves. The three empires called these principalities the Land of Chaos because war constantly broke out there.
