Obito and Kakashi kept moving in the same direction. This place belonged to no country. A thousand years ago, the God Tree had stood here. Later, the Sage of Six Paths had sealed it away. This had also been the main battlefield where the Sage of Six Paths and his brother fought their mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki. Their battle had reduced the place to ruins, and even after a thousand years, life had yet to return. Thus, it had become unclaimed land.
Today, two uninvited guests arrived: Obito and Kakashi. After the meeting ended, Obito had not immediately returned to the Azure Continent. Instead, he had stayed behind, because something more important awaited him here.
Kakashi asked curiously, "Obito, why did you suddenly bring me here?"
Obito replied, "This was where the Sage of Six Paths fought the God Tree. Although he sealed the God Tree away and divided its chakra into the tailed beasts, some troublesome things still remain here. If we don't deal with them, they'll cause serious trouble for the shinobi world."
Alarmed, Kakashi asked, "What could be so terrifying that it could threaten the entire shinobi world?"
Obito replied, "White Zetsu."
Kakashi asked in confusion, "White Zetsu?"
Obito nodded. "Yes, White Zetsu. Kakashi, do you know how they came into existence?"
Kakashi shook his head in confusion, indicating that he did not.
Obito said, "The God Tree absorbs chakra, but not just chakra. It also absorbs life force. A thousand years ago, Kaguya fed large numbers of people to the God Tree. After their life force was drained and they died, the bodies they left behind were transformed by the God Tree into another kind of creature with some of its traits. Those creatures are White Zetsu."
After thinking it over, Kakashi exclaimed in shock, "If that's
