"We're late!"
The red toad leaped from the stream onto the bank with a splash, blinked the droplets from his irises, and let out a heart-wrenching wail as he watched Konoha ninja take down the colorful flags and various decorations.
"We're not late! Isn't there a sage right beside you?"
Sage Fukasaku jumped ashore after him, lifted his cloak to shake off the water droplets, and hurriedly lowered his voice to console him.
Gamabunta looked at the sage, who was about his own size. The red markings around his mouth and the patterns on his chest twitched together as he muttered softly, "But Lord Fukasaku, you may be a sage, but you don't have the Rinnegan!"
"Looks like I should bring Gamaken to see Konoha next time."
"Sorry, old man!"
Gamabunta immediately pressed his webbed hands together and lowered his posture in surrender.
After leaping from the forest into the streets, Gamabunta surveyed the steel jungle built by the ninja. Comparing it to Toad Country in secret, he could not help clicking his tongue in amazement. "Hmm, so Konoha has already grown to this scale!"
Even Fukasaku, visiting Konoha for the first time, could not help raising his white brows as he suppressed the shock in his heart.
The shadows stretched long by the sunlight along the wall concealed their figures.
Fukasaku looked up at the ninja settlement formed of brick walls. It was completely different from the ninja dwellings in his memory, and he could not help sighing inwardly at how quickly the times had changed.
"Gamabunta, take a good look at Konoha. When we return, you can tell those two brats, Ken and Hiro, about it."
Fukasaku straightened his cloak and made the suggestion calmly.
"Mom, look! It's a talking frog."
Pure innocence shone in the little girl's
