Background / History

Shrek has stood on the Douluo Continent for tens of thousands of years. Its influence is attributed not only to its strength, but also to its network of allied sects and noble families across the continent. These groups rely on Shrek’s influence for protection, while Shrek gains access to resources, Soul Bones, Soul Tools, and other benefits through their ties. 187

The academy is regarded as a gathering place for exceptional young Soul Masters. It is credited with producing seven gods, and its tournament reputation is formidable: spectators describe it as having won two thousand consecutive championships. 117

Shrek City is directly operated by the academy. The city hosts its campus, commercial institutions, student registrations, and numerous affiliated organizations. 10 79

Governance and Institutions

Following Mu En’s death, Jiang Yi took charge of Shrek. Mu En instructed Xuan Zi to consult him rather than act impulsively; Zhang Lexuan subsequently served as Jiang Yi’s secretary. 258 259

Enrollment and Education

• Shrek accepts around one thousand students annually, while more than ten thousand applicants may seek admission. 10

Soul Tool Department Reform

Jiang Yi’s work substantially raised the Soul Tool Department’s standing within Shrek. During the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament, Tang Ya used the Thousand Mechanisms Umbrella to defeat Yunluo Academy’s seven-member team alone, publicly associating the victory with both the Tang Sect and Shrek’s Soul Tool Department. 123

Soul Beast Contracts and Beast Taming

Jiang Yi and Beast God Di Tian discussed cooperation between Shrek and the Star Dou Great Forest. Jiang Yi presented a Soul Beast Contract device and proposed a protected Contract Forest where humans and Soul Beasts could form contracts without hunting. The system offered Soul Beasts protection and cultivation resources while providing Soul Masters an alternative means of obtaining Soul Rings. 293 294

• Shrek established the Beast Taming Department and began contract experiments with selected students. Jiang Nannan contracted with a ten-thousand-year Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear. 294
