Overview

Spirit Beasts are creatures that cultivate soul power over time. Their cultivation age commonly determines their strength, and they are hunted by Soul Masters for Spirit Rings. Certain Spirit Beasts can also be converted into Martial Souls or Spirit Rings through Lin Fan's Poké Ball Martial Soul. 1 6 8

Lin Fan's captures are automatically bound by contract, allowing them to be stored, summoned, and commanded in battle. A captured Spirit Beast may also be crafted into a Martial Soul or Spirit Ring, remaining contract-bound to its eventual absorber. 6

Cultivation and Classification

Characteristics

• Spirit Beasts may be animal-type, plant-type, insect-type, dragon-type, or otherwise unusual creatures. 7 36 51
• Their abilities vary by species, cultivation, bloodline, and mutation. 5 6 51
• Mutated or special variants can possess unusually high potential and grant additional benefits when captured. 5 6
• Powerful Spirit Beasts exhibit territorial instincts and may occupy unguarded regions. 53
• Many Spirit Beasts resist human control; Lin Fan's ability to command them is considered unprecedented by other Soul Masters. 25 44 66
• Some high-level Spirit Beasts can speak, negotiate, create clones, use spiritual abilities, or take human form. 37 41 47 69

Relationship with Soul Masters

Spirit Beasts are a primary source of Spirit Rings, which Soul Masters absorb to gain physical improvements and Soul Skills. The resulting effects differ even among rings crafted from members of the same species. 8

Lin Fan's Poké Ball Martial Soul changes this relationship by allowing him to capture Spirit Beasts alive rather than kill them. Captured beasts can be:

• Stored within Poké Balls and restored using soul power. 7
• Summoned to fight under Lin Fan's commands. 7 12
• Crafted into Martial Souls. 6 22
• Crafted into Spirit Rings for other Soul Masters. 8 9
• Healed to full physical and mental condition through Spirit Heal. 8

Notable Spirit Beasts

• Five Spirit Divine Tiger — Evolved from the mutated Thunder-Flame Vajra Tiger; possesses lightning, fire, metal, water, and wind attributes. Its cultivation limit rises to 150,000 years after evolution. 6 7
• Demon Eye Magic Tree — A rare plant-type Spirit Beast absorbed as Lin Fan's first Spirit Ring. Its ring grants Mental Shock. 7 8
• Sky Dream Ice Silkworm — A million-year Spirit Beast that becomes Lin Fan's second Spirit Ring and Soul Spirit, providing five Soul Skills. 37
• Titan Giant Ape — A captured Hundred-Thousand-Year Spirit Beast later approached by Lin Fan as a prospective ally in his plan for collective godhood. 39 41
• Golden Mighty Dragon — A Hundred-Thousand-Year True Dragon-bloodline Spirit Beast descended from the Golden Dragon King. Its successful capture grants maximum favorability and a potential death-immunity, recovery, or evolution effect. 52 53
• Emerald Swan — A 15,000-year healing-type Spirit Beast whose support greatly increases the effectiveness of Lin Fan's forces. 36
