She had on a loose white sweater, a long pleated skirt, and a pair of small leather shoes.

Gray metal walls surrounded them, and harsh white LED strips hung overhead. Yet for some reason, the originally gloomy environment felt somewhat fresh because of Kamishiro Kono's presence.

The girl was not exceptionally beautiful, but the longer one looked at her, the more comfortable she felt, like basking in sunlight.

Qing Chen hesitated for a moment. "Why are you here?"

"I came to see you and brought you some food. I made it myself," Kamishiro Kono said, lifting a small cloth bag from beside her chair. Inside was a temperature-controlled lunchbox, more delicate than the one Ye Wan had brought.

Qing Chen silently opened the lunchbox. Inside were three neatly arranged hand-pressed sushi pieces, with a serving of beef rice beside them.

Kamishiro Kono said, "I asked around. The food in prison seems to be rather bad, so I made some for you."

"Aren't you afraid that I'm a prisoner?" Qing Chen asked.

"I know you're carrying out a mission," Kamishiro Kono said with a smile.

"I'm curious. We shouldn't be that familiar with each other, at least not familiar enough for you to visit me in prison every day," Qing Chen said calmly.
