Background / History

Mu Chen begins at Notting City Junior Soul Master Academy seeking disciples for his Apprentice-to-Strength System, which rewards him according to an apprentice’s aptitude and advancement. Rather than rely solely on personal cultivation, he intends to become powerful by mentoring talented students. At twelve, he already possesses Twin Martial Souls, Innate Full Soul Power, and level 39 soul power. 1

He intervenes when a gate guard extorts Old Jack and Tang San, then uses his knowledge of Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls and unusual innate power to persuade Tang San to become his first disciple. He subsequently accepts Xiao Wu, whose S-rank aptitude yields far greater system rewards and evolves his primary martial soul into the Radiant Dragon King. 1 2

After guiding Tang San’s first soul-ring hunt and helping Xiao Wu cultivate, Mu Chen travels alone to the Star Dou Forest. There he obtains a ten-thousand-year ring from a Light-Scaled Earth Dragon, discovers the injured Ah Yin, and accepts her as a disciple. The resulting Seed of Life fusion makes him a Child of Nature and grants the Domain of Life. 3 6

Mu Chen later takes Zhu Zhuqing from Star Luo City as his third disciple, then becomes a teacher at Shrek Academy so he can personally supervise Tang San, Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and later Ning Rongrong.
