Background / History

Qing Hongyuan is Qing Zhengyue and Liu Yunlan's son, Shen Wanqing's husband, and Qing Mufeng's father. Although he is the Qing Family's nominal head, major decisions remain under Qing Zhengyue's authority. Hongyuan manages the family's businesses and affairs, while his father handles the clan's long-term cultivation strategy. 1 2

After Qing Mufeng awakens the Azure Dragon Martial Soul, Hongyuan is alarmed by Qing Zhengyue's plan to give the six-year-old an eight-hundred-year first soul ring and a one-thousand-six-hundred-year second ring. He ultimately accepts his father's reasoning regarding Mufeng's tempered meridians and agrees to conceal the child's true Martial Soul from outsiders. 2

The Azure Dragon Method substantially improves Hongyuan's cultivation and physique. In three months, he advances from level 47 to level 50, becoming a Soul King. He then chooses a Wind Wood Dragon for his fifth soul ring, seeking flight as part of his pursuit of “Dragon Transformation.” 13 20 21

Hongyuan fights alongside his family against a thirty-thousand-year Wind Wood Dragon.
