The Logic Behind Talent Detection

Everyone keeps complaining about this issue. I saw another comment like that tonight, and with thunder and lightning outside and a torrential downpour, I couldn't calm down. So I decided to reboot and write a separate chapter to explain things.

Some readers haven't worked out the logic, so I'll spoil a little and lay it out for everyone.

Let me start with two examples from the original novel.

The first example.

The Duan Donghe Inheritance.

After Luo Feng obtained the Duan Donghe Inheritance, he acquired a vast number of memory stones and an immense store of knowledge.

The original novel said that with this knowledge, they could nurture more Immortals and Venerables... The current experts could go even further with systematic training.

Venerables could become Universe Masters, and those with great talent could become True Gods.

The existing Universe Masters could very well become True Gods.

To sum up, given the resources they already had, the more powerful the cultivation knowledge available, the more experts they could nurture.

The second example.

World of Jin.

It contained uncountable Immortals, Venerables, Universe Masters, and True Gods.

World of Jin was of a higher level, produced powerful treasures, and had an extremely complete system for nurturing experts. As a result, the number of powerful beings it produced was terrifying.

This example was essentially an enhanced version of the first.

Taken together, these two examples make the logic behind Talent Detection easier to understand.

First.

Yi's level was clearly higher than God King of Jin's.

It was perfectly normal for Yi's methods to exceed the worldview of Swallowed Star. You can look at factors like fortune and karma in Lord Xue Ying for comparison.

The inheritance the protagonist had already obtained was of an extremely high level, equivalent to top-tier knowledge.

Top-tier knowledge could nurture an enormous number of powerful beings. For the impact top-tier manuals had on strength, look at the original novel's three great Earth figures, natives of Earth. After obtaining Hu Yanbo's manuals, all of their strength skyrocketed.

What's more, the protagonist had acquired nearly limitless wealth. Even a pig could be nurtured into an Immortal. Such abundant financial resources could raise the ceiling of someone's potential growth.

Combined, these two factors were equivalent to a low-end version of World of Jin. It wasn't hard to nurture a bunch of people whose peak level was only that of Venerables. That's how you ended up with Orange Level all over the place.

Here's an example from the original novel of resources affecting strength.

Take an ordinary person with no talent.

Give them the best treasures, resources, manuals, and training environment, and they could absolutely become an Immortal.

King Yanzhu of the Trash Star Field, for instance, was forcibly raised to his level by his Venerable father. Of course, King Yanzhu might not have been all that ordinary, but his example clearly illustrates the importance of resources and inheritance.

Next.

I need to explain the definition of Talent Detection again.

Talent Detection measures the growth ceiling of a person's strength if they survive. It doesn't measure their true cultivation talent.

The final value of their growth ceiling depends on many complex factors: fate, luck and opportunities, cultivation talent, speed of Law Comprehension, comprehension, willpower, life-and-death trials, and more.

Two people could both be Orange Level (Venerable Level).

One might become a Venerable in less than a hundred million years, while another might only become one on the eve of Reincarnation's destruction. Both would qualify as Venerable Level, but their talents wouldn't be the same. One might simply have had better luck.

If they died, that would be the end of it.

Finally.

Let me talk about the protagonist.

The title I chose for the novel is Treasure Refining Overlord!

The Overlord level is the strongest level of power in the worldview of Swallowed Star.

With the protagonist's backing, and the attribute boosts he gives to the subordinates he personally trains, would it really be hard for them to become Venerables?

Besides, who knows how many years it'll take those subordinates to become Venerables.

For now, they're just decorations.

Besides.

Among the talented people I've written about so far—the ones bought from the slaves—none are Yellow Level (Universe Master Level). And among the Earth Lineage, aside from Earth's Five Greats, not one is Orange Level.

Has no one noticed this difference?

The disparity in resources led to this result. Apart from their baseline talent, the most important factor determining their growth ceiling is the protagonist's intervention.

The Orange Level figures revealed so far.

They represent the current limit of what the protagonist's resources can nurture. As Yi's resources gradually become available and the protagonist grows even stronger, Orange Level will be nowhere near the limit.

P.S.

A lot of readers have brought up Human Territory and the strength of the Human Race.

You're comparing a force at the level of the Primordial Universe with the protagonist's force, which far surpasses God King Level.

You're comparing the wrong things, everyone.

The protagonist may be weak right now, but his foundation isn't!

Most importantly.

Yi's flashy methods go far beyond what you've seen so far.

Please keep up with my imagination!

So far, no one has guessed the outline of my far-later plot. When you bring up Talent Detection, I honestly feel rather helpless and misunderstood.

The main reason I'm writing about nurturing talented disciples is that I want to show the glorious status of the Earth Lineage. That's why I need to bring it up right from the start. Otherwise, the Earth Lineage will still be nothing but background scenery.

I came up with the Talent Detection setup to write about the Earth Lineage, and I've thought it over many times. I haven't found any logical flaws.

I do respect the original setting, you know.

I'll gradually reveal my ideas later and give everyone a surprise.

For now, just think of Talent Detection as a tool for building a force. The talents it uncovers will hardly be useful for the time being.

I came up with this late at night, and I may have forgotten some of my thoughts for now. I'll add them later if I remember.

It's almost three thirty. I'm out.

If there are any problems with this chapter, please give me a nudge.
