The Final Link
Fran glanced at the three priests who had been brought in, and continued:
"These three priests committed countless evils while serving the false god, maliciously framing the people who were loyal to the god. And I, before the god, on behalf of the Deity, pronounced their death."
Upon hearing this, the ' Half-Dragon ' who were still maintaining order in the audience cheered in unison, raising their claws above their heads and waving them wildly.
These three priests were the last to fabricate charges to send those ' Half-Dragon ' to the Land Forsaken by God '.
Many more priests had already died in the midday battle, torn to pieces by the enraged ' Half-Dragon,' while these three were the ones who surrendered quickly enough to temporarily escape death.
Old Neil watched this scene with a complicated expression. He never imagined that he would have this day, witnessing the death of his enemy.
After being banished to the ' Land Forsaken by God ', his last desire was to live a few more days. He had no thought of revenge, after all, the power brought by the Divine Water was something a dying man like him could not contend with.
He looked at the sharp claws on his hand, never imagining he could possess such power, even though the Divine Water given by the messenger had a slightly different effect.
But in old Neil's mind, this was the real Divine Water!
Accompanying the three priests was a young man dressed as a servant.
He was originally a priest's servant, but many Half-Dragon -Half-Dragon knew him because he had helped them by bringing news of their families and giving them preferential treatment.
With the assurances of the six ' Half-Dragon ', Fran agreed to let him drink the Dragon-Transformation Potion and become a ' Half-Dragon '.
"The false god stole my god's authority and created a weak Divine Water, while this is the true Divine Water bestowed by my god, and this is the true effect of the Divine Water."
Fran explained to the crowd below the stage, attracting everyone's attention.
Eugene suddenly felt uneasy, his hand gripping his cane stiffened, and he almost dropped it. Beside him, Tors trembled, unable to speak.
Tors knew that they had run out of the Divine Water, and would never have it again, while their enemies now possessed Divine Water.
He had no idea how these ' Half-Dragon ' had become like this before; he simply subconsciously assumed that our Divine Water was definitely stronger than theirs.
Now, witnessing this scene, Tors began to doubt himself: Was the god I had previously worshipped a false god? Was I truly a priest serving a false god?
The scene shifts back to the stage, Fran holds a bowl and hands the Dragon-Transformation Potion to a young man whose hands are trembling. He raises the bowl and drinks it down in one gulp.
He gripped the bowl tightly, preventing it from falling.
At the same time, scales began to grow on his body, and claws gradually appeared on his hands.
As the claws extended, they actually pierced through the bowl he was holding, creating several holes.
When he opened his eyes, he could see that the residents below were all stunned, as if they were all frightened by the scene.
"Kill them all."
Fran gave the order, and the newly transformed ' Half-Dragon ' gladly accepted Fran's command. With its two claws, one in front and one behind, it pierced directly into the priests' hearts, drawing blood to the ground.
Despite the blood flowing on the stage, the audience remained unmoved, still immersed in the shock brought to them by the divine Divine Water.
They had questions about where those ' Half-Dragon ' came from, but almost no one really attributed it to the Divine Water.
Because the Divine Water was considered extremely sacred by the Monsa people, it was something that truly gave them strength.
If you put the Divine Water, the priest, and the Deity together, the Monsa people would definitely choose the Divine Water and leave the other two aside.
And now you're telling me that those ' Half-Dragon ' were also transformed using a similar ' Divine Water '.
This sent chills down the spines of the people present, and they remained stunned for a long time.
At this moment, Fran dropped another bombshell.
"My God has taken back His authority; now I am the only one who can produce the Divine Water."
What she said was absolutely right, because she had already learned from Angmar that the priests had long since stopped making Divine Water.
Moreover, she had already driven the original owner out, so even if the High Priest returned now, he wouldn't be able to make the Divine Water.
Eugene seemed to remember something, and suddenly turned to look at Tors with a questioning Tors.
Tors simply shook his head helplessly at him, without uttering a single word.
The burning flame in Eugene's heart was suddenly extinguished by a bucket of cold water.
He knew that priests were a thing of the past; what kind of priests could be called priests if they didn't even have Divine Water?
He gave a bitter smile, as if he had lost all his strength. His cane fell to the ground, hitting another person's thigh, and then slipped through the gap.
The other people were also looking around, hoping to hear a priest refute them, but to their disappointment, there was no sound at all.
"Very well, now let us invite Angmar, who has come to his senses before God, to recount the sins of the priests of the past and the calamity that Monsa will face."
A person whom the audience never expected—the priest of Angmar —stepped onto the platform. His steps were unsteady, and his face was covered with many fresh wounds.
She had already made a deal with the priests of Angmar, asking them to support her in exchange for allowing the surrendered priests to live.
Of course, Angmar had no objection to her choosing three people she had a grudge against to kill.
The other party was truly disheartened by his own Deity, that such a momentous matter was being left to Angmar's wildest dreams, so he immediately switched sides.
Afterwards Fran learned from the Lord of Radiance that the Deity Angmar originally worshipped had many considerations in mind when they said that.
First, the other party may be too busy to attend to this matter. Second, the other party may have already invested their energy in this dream and cannot invest any more.
So when Fran arrived, the opposing Deity only ordered Angmar to hunt Fran down, without taking any other action.
This led to Angmar immediately offering to help after Fran readily agreed to assist Monsa in dealing with the disaster.
Angmar's action greatly helped Fran. He slightly embellished the events on the platform, explaining clearly the High Priest's betrayal and his transformation into a dragon to destroy Monsa, but without dwelling on whether he was a 'false god'.
If Fran's demonstration of the Dragon-Transformation Potion had rendered these people unable to overthrow her rule, then Angmar's endorsement of her had made the people truly believe in the god she represented.
Originally, her claim of being a messenger of God was merely a title, but now, that title has taken on real meaning.
The books beneath Fran's robes were getting increasingly hot, as if some wondrous change was taking place.
Now, Fran only needs to deal with the dragon to end this Trial.
